Hmm…. I've tried this twice now and it's not working for me… Maybe it's patched? On my 2nd attempt I even tried outside spawn distance just in case that was the issue.

You can also catch fairies, BEYOND OCCASIONALLY (very rarely), by chopping down grass and picking up random (afaIk) rocks they may be hiding under! I remember Big ♡ Truffle farming by Snowfield Stable, when I lifted up a rock and a fairy popped up (: This happened to me 2 to 3 times throughout my hundreds of hours worth of play. You can also use the hold method, SPOKEN OF IN THIS VIDEO; which, works and never fails, in most cases — unless they fly away (I got a bunch that way). AND, last of all, check the 999 fairy video on YouTube to see how! (Never tried it bc it seemed too complicated… but, judging by the souce, it works 100%)! Anyway, just wanted to let ppl know you can still find fairies by cutting grass and picking up rocks!! Hope this will help someone!!
