  1. Mario is a Donkey Kong spinoff, so it really isn't odd to see DK heavily featured in a Mario movie. Donkey Kong and Super Mario Bros also the games responsible for the huge international growth of Nintendo in the 80s.

  2. I am worried about the precedent of the price tag being raised for games because this means a few things for me games will go on sale less frequently so Nintendo select are now 100% dead. And games that are being ported over will also see a price increase with even less effort so I’m not a fan of games being sold on the switch as a cloud version or using a emulator to run an ai upscale version and calling it a remaster because if 3ds or wii games are coming to the switch then they are going to cost more than the original price like we have seen with skyward sword and tropical freeze. I have another issue launch day games getting a price increase as more and more games are released unfinished like fighting games they are bare bones and they sell a road map to the finished product so Pokémon games aren’t 60 they closer to 90, fire emblem day one dlc expansion pass that is 25 -40, smash bros ultimate 60 plus 25$ expansion pack1 30$ expansion pack 2. The fact that switch sports launched unfinished because golf was a “free dlc” like no that should have been included at the start. I’m just depressed that we have been stuck in this cycle of battle passes, expansion passes, to sell unfinished games.

  3. A hair above 2 out of every 5 Switch owners have a physical or digital copy of MK8 Deluxe. Just to give context for how successful that game is despite being a WiiU port.
Now, here's another bit of context: MK8 came out back in May 2014, and for all intents and purposes is very old for a console game that is still widely played. I feel that, in concert with the 10-anniversary of MK8, Nintendo will announce the next console in May 2024, and what better way to feature the next generation of console than with a demonstration of MK9, the single best-selling Nintendo title of the last 10 years.
Also, consider that the DLC tracks for MK8 Deluxe will be finished releasing by the end of this year or into early next year, so that would line up with getting a new MK game into consumers' heads before the 2nd quarter of 2024 ends and anticipating consumers getting the game/console into their hands by Holiday Season 2024.

  4. Thank you Will, it's refreshing to see someone who's not head over heels for the new RE4 remake. I agree that the game is basically perfect and they shouldn't mess with it. I saw the new gameplay footage and didn't really like what I saw – the UI itself looks a lot less charming than the original, the game looks a lot more souless. I don't trust them to make a game worthy of the original RE4. Well, at least I'll always have the original to play, on basically every platform under the sun.
