This is exactly how I feel about it. I use joystick air roll, only to get the touch I want, and to recover. I use directional for speed flips and half flips. But I'm not the guy that uses air roll every single time I aerial because it looks cool smh. I think it's slower than jumping straight up. The only thing is that I think it may be easier to control air dribbles while air rolling. I don't do it but I feel people that do might have more control.
Good bc there was times I just air rolled to air roll and missed the shot because of a bad car touch, When instead I could have just normal aerial with no air roll and made an easy shot.
Dang, here I am thinking I'm a terrible player because I can't air roll constantly, tornado spin, or any of that fancy stuff but I can consistently redirect, get shots on goal, pass, air dribble, etc.
Me being a 2015 OG. Pointless Airrolling is one of the biggest faults in my game play but I do it because it makes the game harder and it makes it harder for the opposing team to calculate where I'm going with the ball. Plus it looks cool.
I feel like a lot of people tend to develop a rhythmic type of playstyle when they airroll often. Nothing wrong with that Imo, I think it's just different and I feel like using airroll a lot helps you master it over time.
I don’t air roll much in air because it messes me up
Monkey moon already does
air rolling just looks cool tho that’s why i do it

Yeah winning is cool. But winning with style is cooler.
boosting n air rolling while exactly straight is actually faster than just boosting straight. it was provin.
I thought air Rolling was to make your shot unpredictable
Daniel is a good example of a pro that often uses very minimal air roll
Well you see in my case I use it to flex
thats what im talking about since 2016 xD

Disagree.
Airroll also makes you less predictable.
People often forget that RL is a positional shooter.
This is one of your best tips yet!

Pro tip: attempt to be completely not air rolling at the exact moment of your first touch give it a try
