I was plat 2 and spent about 1k hours only practicing mechanics and recently I returned to ranked and got champ 2 off of seemingly pure mechanics now granted this might be due to players getting generally worse but whatever idk why people care so much play the damn game for fun
I’m learning air dribble since i start the game and still can’t do it 🙁
Every youtuber: you don't need mechanics to rank up…
Everywhere I look: "you dont need mechanics to rank up" "bruh why grind mechanics just grind game sense, rank up ez" "bruh ur plat and can do flip reset how garbage is ur game sense" "bro why u grind mechanics ur so garbage"
Like no one is saying u need mechanics to rank up xD
You dont even need airdribbles to be gc…
I hit GC3 in 2’s this season, and fancier mechanics are definitely not as important to winning games as positioning around tm8’s and around ur opponents
Your videos help so much just made it Champ in a year of playing 🙂 thanks Luke
I stick to the ground but here and there I'll get in the air to hit the ball, but I don't dribble or stay with it.
id say double taps are also important, maybe not as much in higher gc where people actually defend the back board, but in lower gc they are definitely useful.
The myth is too beat the game
As a champ 3 div 3 player- 'oh wait' as a champ 1 div 1 player this season i can confirm 👍
I’m super close to hitting GC, I’m champ 3. Do you have any suggestions for me to get that last push to GC?
I actually think air dribbles are harder and less effective to score than ceiling shots. But then again im only gold and cant do either. But with an air dribble you need to maintain control, and celing shots you just get a flip and its hard to read. But if you learn air dribbles ceiling shots will be easier, but not exactly vice versa, IMO.
How about from GC to SSL? Been GC since S14, but can't seem to anything more than get my rewards each season. I feel my biggest problem is consistency, whether I train well or not.
I hit GC1 just off of positioning. I solo q in 3s and made it there. A lot of people said I wouldn’t hit it before the season was over and I did without being carried and without all the fancy mechanics. Mainly positioning and good defense is all you need. Also reads have to be faster.
Flakes right now =I
Me when I watch 1 Flakes video
Flakes got to ssl twice with basic macanics
I am gold, and it's crazy, how the people in this rank want to pull of these mechanics. It's just unnecessary at this point, to learn air dribbling and stuff like that.
I disagree with this. Ball control with dribbling is so much more important than air dribbling. The reason for this is because you can not air dribble consistently enough to make it worth going for vs dribbling the ball on the ground is much more useful. Not only that but ground dribbles happen just about every single game vs getting a chance to go for an air dribble uncontested, then on top of that consistently being able to do those at gc is just not going to happen. When you also go for those air dribbles watch how many times you put your teammate in a 1v1, or even a 1v2 because you think you are squishy. #ground game most important for gc. My opinion.
It's not myth, it's well known. As i mechanicless c3 in both 2s and 3s with ugly flicks and barely good aerial setups, i can totally agree with that.
This is actually really great advice. I've been trying to tell my lower ranked friends for so long lol
Number one, your 2’s rank is not your rank. Play 1’s to see that
I know because im diamond 2 in 1’s and champ 1 in 2’s
Just hit GC3 and I still can't make any aerial solo play, I think air dribbles and flip resets are the only necessary mechanics to get SSL, start learning them early because I'm stuck
Im champ in 2s and 3s and i still cant fast aerial lol.
Imagine being able to follow the ball mid air and controlling your car 💀. I still can't do it after over 1000 hours in this game.
so no-ones gonna acknowledge the fact that he contradicts himself at every turn? how can one, and i quote, " only need one mechanic" yet SAID mechanic is a mix of 3 mechanics..
An important thing to winning in Rocket League is playing to YOUR strengths.. more importantly, the biggest factor that affects your improvement is actually being able to stay interested in the game for longer than a week, consistency is key afterall
Last season I managed to get gc2 strictly because of mechs but I always learnt the very complex mechanics but I never used then in game it’s so helpful to just now how to control your car and ball
Cries is Diamond 3
air dribbles are the base mechanic to a lot of things. it's easy to learn and fast to learn. I also recommend trying backboard reads and double taps as air dribbling can open up that play and make almost unsaveable shots.
Ive been playing since 2016, never did alot of training. I can't halfflip, no fancy stuff. Not even decent at airroling. But I hit every ball I want to hit and focus on position/rotation. I'm C2 in 2s
what is the decal at 0:43
Double taps still count right???? Because double taps and ground pinches should be needed because if you have a bad set up you could do a double tap . If you are at the wall and just see you have 40 boost you could go do a ground pinch.
I finally got champ last season and I barely just learned how to actually dribble and balance the ball on my car. I've hit maybe 2 or 3 flicks ever. I can't air dribble at all or do double taps (gotten close a couple times). Can't even half flip consistently lol (def something I'm gonna prioritize now though). The reason I'm in champ is because I have strong game sense and rotations (at least for my rank), good shadow and backboard defense, solid air roll recoveries and I would say my fast aerials are pretty on point
Is there any difference between double jump arials and fast arials?
Air dribbles are how I hit diamond after over a year hardback in plat. 3 hours later… were in season 6. Can't even flex till I rank again!
Question should I take my ball cam off when shooting and if so should I do the same when flip reseting and going for double taps or does it really matter
Double taps and reads, I would work in that aswell
I am currently C2 and personally i feel like i suck, im mechanicaly really bad but i can air dribble. Im proof this video is pretty much true
Saying that you can flip reset without being good at airdribbles is like saying that you can kick flip but can’t ollie.
Daddy Flakes doesn't need air dribbles to get ssl
Bro just did what a pro or any other person would not do it's positioning consistentsy control rotation game sense and yes mechanics don't matter at all look at the people that get to ssl with No mechanics
Hey I dont have a dicord but am looking for coaching
agr q fica a pergunta, como melhorar/começar a aprender airdribbles, pq pqp ta dificil
The problem is most players focus on ranking up and not actually getting better at the game. To many players surprise, those aren't the same thing. I see a lot of players saying "I'm GC and can't do such and such". Okay, you aren't good at the game though. It seems to be a weird way for people to prove they are a certain skill level without learning the skills to get there. Put your fragile egos aside, accept you're not good and improve, laugh at yourself along the way. To become actually good at the game it takes focused effort. We are all exactly as good as the sum total of the amount and quality of time put in to practice. This can be on or off the ball, in or out of game. Just watching pro play isn't practice but watching pro play with the intent of improving yourself can be. Focus on what they do and why. Combine studying pro play with watching your own replays and become aware of the differences in decision making. Train everything all the time, general car control first, you should master the basics which would include directional air roll… you should eliminate "blackouts" where you lose control of your car. There's no hiding from flashy mechanics, the more you train them the better equipped you'll be to identify and defend against them. Good luck out there and remember we're all trash
Your videos are really good tips are really good keep it up
Hoops forced me to get gud at air dribbles, I used to HATE playing hoops sometimes but now it’s kinda just a double touch playground 😎
I mean Flakes proof that even without Aerials you can reach SSL.. ^^'
I think you really should do videos about how important the mindset etc. is and that most people should try to really start THINKING about what they are doing, what is the opponent doing etc etc.
Tertiary is specifically third in a series, so you're gonna have to include quaternary, quinternary, sexternary, septernary, etc. to classify the rest. :p
