But Luke look at Zen when he uses the Wall Dash his recoveries are insane.
Redirects from defence is a goddamn weapon, change my mind
bruh im 911th like💀
idk man pinches come in clutch if you gotta clear the ball fast
Feeling personally attacked by your take on redirects
Can I please get coached i was a plat
Yeah no, there is a misconception about the passing thing, i feel like i have to make a comment on that one. It's the same stance i have on mechanic's in general and to understand my viewpoint i have to explain my standpoint on mechanic's, so here i go:
Thing about mechanic's is, while they make you better at the game, they can't make you rank up, well not entirely true, they do let you rank up, but bare with me for a sec.
Getting better at game mechanic's (DAR, wavedashes, air dribbles, ground control, you get the gist), can be detrimental to your success, simply because knowing how to perform something can get you in a state off overconfidence. A player that is overconfident is more likely to go for a stupid situation. Maybe you learned to recover exceptionally fast, you go for a high aerial, recover off the ceiling and are presented with a situation you "could" go again for the ball. What makes you rank up and "better" at the game, is not the ability to do that kind of flashy stuff, it's realizing if that is actually the smart thing to do? Let's look at our mate, he sees your touch, but doesn't see you have annother play on the ball (he doesn't see you recover), by going for that play yourself, you might "force" a double commit.
So in essence, getting more confident in your ability to play the game, let's you make stupid decisions at a faster pace, makes sense? While its important to practice mechanic's, it's even more important to practice "when" to go for something and when to just leave. This makes it so your time spent practicing mechanic's isn't wasted (in my opinion).
Knowing this, the same applies to passing play's, they are essential in a game like rocket league and practicing them in actual gameplay situations the sooner the better, but, the same way knowing how to perform them, doesn't mean it's the right play to make. Assessing the situation and then coming up with a solution is so much more important than any mechanic you could learn. If it's stupid to go for a pass, because your pass is getting somewhere your opponent can easily reach before your mate, is a stupid thing to do. Yet, ppl still pass like that…
Passing plays are not overrated, ppl just dont understand the game well enought to use them effectively, even a bad pass, can be a good thing, if the decision for that pass, was a good decision to begin with, if that makes sense?
Edit: Yes i agree with redirect's, they fit perfectly within my explanation, going for a redirect usually happens while missing information around you, so you have to be absolutly sure your opponent doesn't have a beat on you, to go for a "smart" redirect and not just a "stupid" redirect, thanks for giving me a good example at the end.
Could you make an attacking postioning video? Preferably from the champ-gc range?
Dont train any of them and still will be diamond forever 😂
Fancy flicks I agree, if you trying to get gc I agree to a lot of these but ssl you need almost all of these if you want your life to be easier and not behind competition.
im gold and i can musty flick
Brooo I love your vids my friends are always bullying me for being bad at games including rocket league can I please get coached
I'm d2d3 does someone wanna play w me and push to champ?
Can’t wait to preorder my new flick
But my friend is a diamand can do duble flip reset😢😂
I feel like your videos are getting a little less formal like you’re laughing and making jokes and stuff and I like that better in my opinion. It makes your videos more fun to watch.
When you say “Below Gc” you mean below C3 right because it is constantly GC2 smurf 😂
I pass all the time and honestly is the only reason I'm the rank i am. Passing is the most skilled and most useful mechanics IN THE GAME
But it is ok if you practice pass with your friend
I like redirect training more o
For defensive training and recovery training. Controlled touches to the corner followed by a quick recovery in defensive position with a push option is nice.
great advice although makzy flip dont take a lot of setup still dosent mean it is for plats and diamonds
These are must knows now, thanks Spookie 🤣
Thank you for your best controller bonds it helped alot
Thats nice man
Road to GC!
The editing of these videos is very cool. Thanks for making this content, I started using your tips and I felt an incredible improvement in my gameplay. Thank you 😎💪🏻
For the discord verification code doesn't send
Thanks! This helps a lot. Now I’m gonna start training celing pinches
Spookluke I was going to get in but I had to put a phone number and a password???
The set up time for mawkzy's flicks is crazy fast, that's why its the best flick in the world speed + fast set-up time
Agree
your the best
honestly i have improved dramatically just from your youtube videos. If i wasnt in New Zealand id sign up to your program
Passes – imbalance skill only with your regular teammates. I am grand diamond and we take so much games with my friend by using the nice passes.
But I agree that this is truly not the skill you must to train for rank-up. Passes trains automaticly with your team chemistry. If you haven't chemistry in your team (solo queue or smthg), use basics, go back, never overcommit, shot the ball well.
Nice top, Luke. As usual 😊
Love your videos. I've gotten a lot better thanks to your tips, keep up the good work!
Too late i can already easily flip reset in freeplay as a diamond also in 1v1s but i cant do it in 2v2
mawckzy flick are good to learn tbh and walldash too but don't start to learn them in plat
Your editor needs a raise. These edits and effects are amazing!
Idk, training ceiling shots and flip resets has made my overall car control go up faster allowing me to hit double taps and air dribbles a lot easier. Pushing for a harder mechanic makes a simpler one feel easier.
I just utterly despise how much I'm being called out in C2 and how right you are about all of it. Though you may have been a little overzealous with having Passing so high in the list.
idk bro i can pass in champ and it works well. i dont set up a passing play, my teammate is just there and i toss it over. but i have noticed if it doesnt work it leaves your teammate in a bad position if possession is lost
I disagree with flip resets my C2-C3 games have EVERYONE back to back flip resetting and I keep getting in games with GCs+
I quit rocket league it’s to hard
Luke I know you know what your talking about but this time I don’t think so pinches is THE best way to clear the ball and pass and also passes are super helpful and I also think that if you don’t just sit up field all the time and wait for a pass redirects are a really good mechanic
