He was right to bang that. If he tried to take control he woulda gotten dunked. If he hit the ball to the wall for him to follow up. Opponents woulda still gotten it along with the boost. Hitting the ball behind them is fine in that situation. Only other play is for him to leave it for you, and I think you coulda soft touched it to take control. You coulda hit the ball into open space dribbled the ball away from your opponent. But you look slow in this play, so he bangs it behind them and he gets a demo to give you an open net and you start bragging about how when you get possession you do a soft touch.
