I've noticed this for quite a while, pro players sometimes use the "Other" directional air roll (players like Joreuz, Aztral, AppJack) here and there, but I've noticed that when the pressure is on and they need to make good plays in the air, they almost always go for their main Directional air roll, for example, Joreuz goes with Air roll right, Appjack and Aztral goes with air roll left. They use the other one mostly during recoveries if necessary.
Now, there are some other players who almost never use the other directional air roll, for example, Ayyjayy, Daniel, Drali, Jstn, Vatira, Monkeymoon (all of them air roll left, except for Monkeymoon). But, can you really say that they are in anyway not as mechanical and fast as those who use both? I don't think so, maybe there are some situations where air rolling in the other direction gives a small advantage with the touch, but I would say it's minimal and almost everyone uses the other direction mostly for recoveries in the ground and wall and such. Even those who uses both here and there, aren't really Equally comfortable with both it seems like, cause when the pressure is on, they almost always go for their main arsenal.
So, maybe it's better to really master one direction, and maybe become somewhat comfortable with the other one or the general air roll for microadjustments and recoveries.
Do a video on corners. Im C2 and I feel like I just have to get luck with corner 50's.
I am ranck bronze please trayn me my name is fortnite4390
Totaly agree i only use arl and a lot of joystick airroll works oerfectly well. I just dont know how to get better in sinny aerials. I got decent controll but still a lot of situations where id just be more precise without using any airroll. Been in rings and all that but just didnt see progres like i did when learning basic aerials now im just always using it in hope ill get better through time lol. Sry teamm8s for all the wiffs
Just wondering, what happened to the coaching until GC?
i started to use your car design with bakkesmod because its just so clean and i cant stick with a car design i like
I haven't messed with normal air roll so idk how it functions. Why would you use it instead of a directional air roll? If, for example, you roll right by default and use normal only when you need to roll left, how is that better than using left to roll left?
Yes, I only use Air Roll Left cs of that as well, would take hundreds of hrs for me to get Air Roll Right as well, Im all time trainning my Air Roll Left and thats it, Im now champ 2
In the end its always Personal preferences imo… I only use Stick AR and dont feel comfortable with the other Air Rolls… People told me since ages that i should learn another Air Roll but i am still improving and Ranking up fast af compared to most others, so i am definitly not changing it xD
I started using the individual left and right as soon as I started learning how to aerial. I tried using the directional ad practiced with it for a while and it always messed me up. So I use air roll left about 95% of the time. Only use right to recover or a small last second adjustment.
People use the different air roll directions?????
i think there are situational benefits, for instance, i shoot from the right corner by air rolling upside down and to the right of the ball for power and height on my angled shots…..I can achieve this air rolling the same direction from the left corner, but it takes me longer to get my car into position and i have slightly less accuracy, it wasnt until i got comfortable air rolling both ways that i had matched accuracy/power from both sides of the field on that type of shot….. You have to think about it as conservation of momentum with physics, if i want to hit the ball with power from the right side of the field to the left side of the field, air rolling left is going to keep my momentum through the ball, the reverse is true from the other side of the field, none this matters though if your hitting the ball straight.
ty so much i though i could never make a high rank bc im not used to air rol right or left, d2 now btw
BRO I JUST MASTERED BOTH OF THE AIR ROLLS SO DO I GO FOR RIGHT OR LEFT
Whats directional air roll?
There was a poll on r/RocketLeagueSchool the other day, and 21% of users said they don't have joystick air roll bound at all, just ARL & ARR. I am one of those. Ever since I was in Silver, I unbound analogue air roll for directional. Now hundreds of hours later, I don't know how to use it. For me, there's no reason other than time not to learn full control of both directionals.
We want new "my settings and car presets" video :))
Air roll till you score is the only way… enough said
I can’t even airrol i don’t know how to use directional airrol i have 0 control with it if someone can help me
lol ive been using that shit for the whole time
Do you remember 3 years ago you played fortnite
dont worry i cant anyway
Why 18?
I'm almost 2.4k hours deep into RL, only ever played with standard Air Roll – I feel like I would benefit from playing directional air roll but man, all the muscle memory to break and relearn.. idk if I can do it
This may be weird but, for me
Drift – L1
Jump – R3 (click right stick)
ARL – pull right thumbstick left
ARR – pull right thumbstick right
Idk how to use normal air roll, and always use both sides, took maybe 100 hours on these binds and can do mechanics equally both sides and better than I was with old binds
does this apply for kbm?
I use both before I saw this video now I still use both since its fun to see how good I am using one compared to the other
makes no sense to kbm players thanx
I’m kbm wth is directional air roll and I’m champ?? Lol I just use ARL
I’ve been using both since I was like plat 2 years ago
I never use joystick airroll. For simple things like recovery I can use both directions, but if I try something more complicated in air I focus on air roll left.
