Ein Gedanke zu „Stealing Boost From Your Team8 | Inner Monologue | Rocket League Gold 3 2v2“
  1. At 2:21 you can see that your opponent is turning, right before you flip. At 2:24 I'd say let ballcam off and use the ball indicator on the ground to navigate. You can then easily see where the ball is going and how high it is, when you need to jump for it, etc. If you are used to it, you also can use ballcam, but it's easier without, imo.

At 3:11 I think you could have gone for the ball to interrupt that backboard play instead of going to the net. In a perfect scenario your mate goes to goal instead and you get at least somewhat of a clear or a delay on their play. For These kinds of backboard shots at 3:15 your defensive reads have to be on point and you have to jump like super early. I don't think that's in the defensive repertoire of a gold 3/plat 1 player.

At 3:37 it basically dosen't matter who takes the boost in that situation. Some players, like your mate go more offensive after a kick off, some stay passive and would let you take the boost. Here it's the better play imo, cause he has way more momentum and can immediately attack. (not regarding the outcome of that attack :P)

At 3:44 that's your ball, definitely your mates fault. Luckily you didn't get scored on.

At 4:14 you could turn off ballcam. That's super confusing at first, but it perfectly shows you how you can hit the ball. You often see that in high ranks. Makes it easier to focus on where exactly you will hit the ball.

4:32 turn of ballcam. You'll still be able to see where the ball is, while having a perfect view of what everyone is doing on the pitch. That way you won't panic as much and can take your time.

    5:10 Communicate Kickoffs!

5:48 you can't do much there. Only have brutal reflexes and perfectly timed double jumps. Almost no chance for you.

6:11 you put yourself a bit too much out of position. Otherwise this is a goal for you.

6:24 You see your mate coming your way, still decide to go for the center, even though there wont be anyone except the opponents. Always try to see what your mate is doing. in gold and plat it's pretty important to just read your mate, maybe even better than your opponent. Everywhere in mid plat and above this creates a 2v1 which is almost always a goal. Not saying it's your fault here, since your mate was going for that corner boost for no reason at all and put himself way out of position but you can definitely adapt to that.

6:31 just take your time. Use the swivel or rear view to check where your opponents are. No need to panic there. you can roll the ball up the corner and see if your opponents follow you. if they chase, you try to get a hard hit off of the corner wall, if not, take it slow.

6:44 Try to be confident and try to shoot it back to the corner where it came from, with a flip or anything. Or just get a touch. Your mate positioned himself pretty bad. Just jump a tiny bit earlier. It's a tough situation for you.

7:18 go for a powershot. flip into the ball or jump while shooting. It's a way better chance than going for a slow shot here. You probably wanted to go for a well placed shot but that was too slow. Made an easy save for them.

7:29 Try not to stop before that aerial. Kills or your momentum and makes it harder to aim for you because you have to adjust differently. Right after that I won't recomment to fly after the ball. Get back on the ground, that's faster and you won't waste boost. And you won't land behind the ball where you can do absolutely nothing.

8:08 wrong. Rewatch that. Imagine you go for that boost there without any momentum, etc. In that time the opponent already has the clear. Your mate was like 2 seconds faster and could take the 50/50 because of it which led up to a last (kinda) chance.

8:59 Nice trust in your mate there. Many people would've just went and stopped it right in front of their net while the mate usually has a better clear. very well played.

9:33 not the best idea to go in the direction of the ball with no speed, no prober angle and almost no boost + your mate being there. Just go back for boost or collect pads infront of your own net. but you saved it pretty well with your halfflip.

9:42 you basically have no chance of beating him there. just instantly go back down the wall and collect the 100 boost and let your mate proceed. He was overwhelmed anyways but you might have had a chance of saving it. Not sure tho.

10:10 try to get the higher ground on that 50/50 worst case in goes in their favor but not as hard as that one. Jump a bit earlier to get the high ground.

10:31 you went so slow, though you could see him going full speed for it. if you boosted for it you could have gone for the 100 boost and then just boom it their way or get a 50/50 at least.

10:41 that going backwards basically killed your chance of easily saving the shot. you could have tried to face your car more to "Chase" but actually your mate had a super easy clear and just whiffed and left you in that awkward position.

11:03 since you lost the kickoff that hard, dont even bother for the side and corner 100's. collect a few pads and just go back to net. 100 boost are worthless if you're not in range to save a shot. Your mate had an easy clear though. At gold level you should be able to clear such slow rolling wall shots, tbh.

11:30 going for an aerial there is just a waste of boost. just do a couple front flips and use a little boost to challenge quickly.

11:37 basically good positioning, just bad luck for you that the opponent got a decent touch on it.

12:05 well done just going back to help out on defense instead of going for boost in the meantime. Exactly what I was talking about earlier.

12:33 nice touch, no need to try to follow that up though. just a waste of boost.

    12:45 nice challenge.

14:32 instead of trying to figure out what to do, go back, cause you won't be able to score from that position, playing save would have saved you there, though I don't know if you would have been able to save that.

15:02 Very nice! These set ups and shots are extremely useful.

15:54 that's just unlucky, man. Happens even to the best. No ones fault really.

16:24 Very nice challenge. Well executed.

16:49 just go back there, grab some boost. You're not able to do anything there.

Hopefully that helps. I just spoke about things that stood out. 90% of the time when you did things good and executed them well I just didn't say anything. The few positive things I mentioned are things that actually impressed me at that level of play, so don't take this as a rant. I'm really enjoying your videos, man. Keep it up!
