Somebody can help me? Whenever I half flip and cancel the flip, right after I stop "canceling" the flip and let go of the stick my car just re-accelerates into flip rotation

Real quick wanted to mention something for the ones who are facing a problem, or struggling with doing this: It's really important to cancel your flip when your car's nose is facing downwards, otherwise the half flip is scuffed and takes a long time.

The problem for me is that I’m playing after a few months and when I try doing half flips it doesn’t work for some reason I just cannot cancel the flip but my controller is not defective and I can cancel the flip when I flip forwards, it doesn’t work when I flip backwards please help my gameplay has been affected a lot by this(I’m on xbox) sometimes it works sometimes is doest
