What a Game "freak" moment of all time.

It would be nice if it worked. I know they want to do more than pokemon but this gen needs help.

Also that's not the only bug happening. They currently have to redo entire tournaments because of a bug. I love the game but things aren't well at all. Missing out on Chestnaut. Delphox is going to be pushed back which probably causes home to be pushed back. The bad news just never ends for SV. One thing after another.

GameFreak with Pokémon & ILCA with HOME, are both shooting themselves in both feet & legs, causing such trauma to their "legs" as you will….
That these games are going downhill & down the drain so quickly, their heads spin to the point they fall off.

Now if they took their time, before sending out a half baked ( what seems to be a BETA version ) game, they'd have the perfect & BEST game within the series and of ANY series.

And at least with other companies, at least they are…. What is it called….
TRANSPARENT…. With their customers.

And 5 years would be PERFECT timing for a new game…
Games need to be polished & LOVED… Babied even. I definitely can see that happening. 😮😮😮

I liked SV and i didnt face many issues, but it wasn't as polished as previous games. It was obviously rushed, and that was made even more glaring when compared to PLA and BDSP. Hopefully they learn from this.

The biggest problem I have with how this IP is being handled, is that it is – as you said – the most profitable cross-media franchise in the world.

TPC has more than enough resources to hire massive teams, or build out multiple teams so that if they insist on having these games be annual or bi-annual, they can have more than one or two teams at a time have games in the oven, giving each team significantly more development and polish time. (The Call of Duty dev cycle formula, basically.) Yet they won't invest in doing so.

They also have more than enough resources to invest in better R&D and software engineering. They have access to assistance from Nintendo and Monolith, who have offered them said assistance during development. There is no excuse for the state of this game, other than them simply choosing not to invest in more/better studio staff and engineering, in the pursuit of maximizing profits.

Meanwhile, Gamefreak just announced a new multiplatform IP being developed with 2K handling publishing, so they aren't even solely or primarily focused on Pokemon currently. So there really is zero priority being placed on quality control for Pokemon games right now, within TPC or Gamefreak. Quality is an afterthought, which is a slap in the face of consumers. It's that simple.

Nintendo by contrast delays their games for years to ensure at least some particular standard of polish.

I feel they should release more spin offs to fill up the time slots instead of rushing to put out main series games as quickly as they could. We don't get any Pokemon Stadiums or Pokemon Coliseums anymore, but even if they aren't everyone's cup of tea I think a new Mystery Dungeon, Pokken, Pokepark, etc. game would still keep the company alive while they work on the main series in the background.

We all know why they aren’t going to do that for Pokémon. They have too much merch, anime tie ins and what not to have a 5 year development cycle.

A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is forever bad.

The only way things will change is if people stop buying pokemon games, but that just wont happen. TPC/Gamefream know they can put out crap games that arent finished and people will still eat it up
