Cheers Steve. I had forgotten most of the beginning stuff. This kinda made me want to start a new character but there's loads of new content to catch up with.
I've found your uploads really useful, there's even been the odd surprise, like the music generator and living frigates.
Is this cheating, nope definitely not. Breaking outside of the intended design usually qualifies as cheating.
I don't know if it's still a thing or not but we used to be able to plant native crops on the planet itself. One of my first bases, Snowhaven, grows a ton of Frostwort outside without a planter, Last time I was there, it's still producing.
I agree with play the way you like. It's your game, There is no right or wrong way to play as long as your having fun and not interfering with other people's joy.
Note you cannot turn Capt. Steve into nanites.
Captain of the Steves they kinda changed it on me i had to make the Life support gel canisters i tried the sodium nitrate and sodium it would not accept it i had to find the Di Hydrogen crystals which i got a teraton of those but most interesting planet i finally found a true sky blue volcano planet i feel completed at last and i called it RAD MAPLE after an older 1993 steam punkish version of Radion i did forever ago im gonna try redrawing that one it was an odd phase while every one was doing anime i kinda went my own way back then and still do hehe but that base it is a literal blue fire haven, just too beautiful for words a lil each day im going to make it perfection it might not look like something from a Kaleidoscope but it has my own personal touch to it, plus by two blue lava volcanoes erupting side by side it is beautiful that perfect brilliant blue like the Samsonite case you got, just amazing and the blue lights set it off and the blue spruce trees as well and the glass cuboid rooms im making something astonishing when finished. and a new anomaly character in my fave color fits the background to the T also the CYAN Samurai i nicknamed it hehe I'm just hoping they add real aquariums soon also that would set everything off too and stock it with fish you have scanned to add more life to the base just overjoyed. that perfect brilliant blue is breathtaking. i know it si somewhere you might not go but man it is in the 700 ring i call it around the core found an odd colored planet its lifeless but when scanning from ship it has a cyan scan wave, with magenta holo scan in the cockpit and magenta re entry friction burn, very awesomes i know im close i have seen these worlds soo long ago but they are different now too oh that ice world has ice worms as well Planet J, but just to freakking cold of course but glad i made a shelter, hope you find planets like that too Captain im always on the look out for something rare and hard to find i hope to find other goodies real soon ill be experimenting on making something amazing.
If you put down the exocraft summoning station(the big satellite dish), you don't need to build the individual stations. Technically, you only need to build them each once, then the ESS and your freighter is all you need.
Quick question. If you change game modes can you still unlock achievements?
If I start a new save, following your instructions would be the way that I would do it. In July, 2022, I bought NMS and played it. I died three times before I started to get the hang of it. Later I nearly lost my second ship, a hauler, because it was not my primary ship, I had failed to replenish the thrusters, couldn't call for it, and forgot where I had parked it. Just dumb luck I found it again. I did the long grind for everything. Then I got smart and started watching NMS creators like you, Captain Steve. However, if I was starting off brand new again I think that I would still do the long grind. It gave me an appreciation of NMS creators, the help of NMS community(although there are jerks out there), and a resilience to not give up when faced with the challenges of expeditions or the now wonky multiplayer and bugs. By the way, the single player mode is also starting to get weird on the PC version. Thank you, Captain Steve, for all that you do to help us rookies!
