If the controller had a Gampad mode and Mouse Mode, where the analog stick is an analog stick in Gamepad mode, but with little horizontal movement when in mouse mode would cause an a or d keystroke. the mouse buttons in gamepad mode would be the r2 and l2 or bottom trigger row of a controller.

  28. A month later but.. Enhanced pointer precision option is turned off in the Mouse properties, right? I figure you might play FPS games so you already know to turn it off, but I don't know if when you install a new pointer device if it gives it the default settings. That will most definitely screw your steering, air control and flips, as how much movement is translated depends on how fast you move the joystick and not how far from the center it is.
