I think that the roster for scarlet is deeper, with more good options overall, but with violet having more of the splashable options you can put on any team.

This also currently holds true for Showdown, as they each have one in Ubers (Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle), but there are four future Paradoxes in OU and only two past, with the remainder for both in UU.
However, who knows if this will continue, as Home compatibility could bring in some replacements or counters for some of these guys, causing them to fade into the background.
It’s way easier to design the past forms since we know so much about the past as it’s already happened, but we don’t know much about the future so I’m assuming that’s why those designs seem so limited
It's Scarlet hands down. I was sold on Ceruledge plus Miraidon so I got Violet. But so many Violet paradox mons are mid.

Pretty cool how it’s the opposite for singles
The Paradox mons feel like their abilities were designed for Double Battles. Set up with a Pokemon with Drought or Sunny Day, or Electric Terrain plus your preferred Paradox, and boom. Slap on a Booster Energy, Heat Rock and a Terrain Extender, and you are looking at power.
This is going to sound naive but why is iron hands good in competitive? What does it bring?

unpopular opinion, I prefer Violet because we just came from the past, literally in legends arceus, pokemon Violet makes me want a future region more tho, I think the gen 5 remakes could be perfect, given us a regional student loan debt form, also a regional tiktok…. a ancient tiktok form… oh wait this is pokemon
