: if anything, I'm glad that I somehow, managed to do it twice, because wow, that would be terrible, if I had not noticed
The first Half-Life had in-fighting too. The bullsquids would prioritise fighting headcrabs over anything else, the background plot detail being that one was the natural predator of the other on Xen.
John Freeman saw the next boss far down the road and walked slow this time. He walked really slow like a turtle and sat down on a rock and watched the next boss near the dead last boss and where the place that Gordon Freeman was. The next boss was laughing at John Freeman so John Freeman said
YOU WILL NOT LAUGH AT ME!
and shot a rocket at him since that was his weakness.
The next boss died and John Freeman was happy. He walked over to the dead bosses and put them under the ground and planted pants on them so instead of messy dirt and dark there was pretty things there now to be happy.
John Freedom's doctorate in medical sciences taught him the best way to solve a problem is to inject multiple metal pills directly into the patient's skull and the problem kinda then solves itself.
1:52 raocow gets hit by King Crimson
Charge Man got you this time, cowman!!
Raocow have a 20cm pinky confirmed.
Now we're in the Flying Battery Zone? I thought this was Half-Life 2, not ATS.
13:59 "I don't think you need that" chucks away the battery
The moment he said that, I started worrying.
Once I started seeing edits, it pretty much confirmed that my worries were warranted! lol
the adventures of raocows wild pinky
I… don't think I've ever actually seen that battery before. There's another one underneath an overturned bathtub that you can flip over with the gravity gun. I'm kind of surprised they even have a spare; I always assumed that if you managed to "dispose" of one of the batteries it's probably just discreetly respawn in its original place while your back was turned or something. If there's actually a spare there I'm not so sure now.
I'm not even going to comment on "Well, I don't think you need that" followed by what looked to be at least five minutes of trying to literally dismantle the gate by hand.
Welcome to another exciting episode of Gordon Freeman's Door Science
I find Raocow's crowbar violence based method of puzzle solving charming~
There is another battery under the bathtub, and there might even be a fifth one in some place I don't remember.
Today in Half Life 2:
Canadian Freedom Man ignores everything
I can't help but be a little amused at how a "destroy the world" mindset is what tripped things up.
there is also a battery in a car, so you had spares (:
Raocow: I think i'm going to die.
Combine: Oh no we broke his spirit.
Combine: I feel bad 🙁
There's a wooden barricade in the way! You need to find a way to get past the wooden barricade! It's fun! Are you okay?
12:09 Optimus Prime
5:42 this is one of my favourite raocow moment in a while. The power of Death Perception, everyone!
I feel like there wasn't a goodie in the light because it's in a loading zone and you could get it twice
As someone who's played a ton of FPSes, and HL2 (and sourcemods) in specific, this has been a really interesting playthrough so far. It's pretty exciting to see you get a grip on the mechanics and the trappings of the genre. Also neat to watch how you approach the puzzles. I hope you're enjoying! (And maybe be open to playing other games, or even source mods – Black Mesa is quite good, for example.)
Wow, "Second Life." Is that still a thing?
5:57 Well, I did say in the first video to expect a trainwreck…
Best Combine Strategy yet: Take the door battery out and hide it, like, really high up, so he can't find it.
raaaaaooooocow!
nope, it didn't help.
Oh, they have more batteries than you need? I always just got the one under the bathtub outside.
"oh no a box what am i gonna do" —John Freedom, entering the next MAGL contest
did i play a different half life??? i didnt know that theres battery up there?? i found one inside of a car
I think there's one inside a car too. That was my thinking in this area, "Hmmm, these look like car batteries, I wonder if there's still one inside a car somewhere." I had no idea there was one where you found it 🙂
you r the stupidest gamer
use cover raocow and crouch behind it so youre a smaller target to shoot
Your record button is on tab!? Wow, there's so many games I play where Tab is to back out of a menu or something like that, that's crazy that you've never needed to use it. I guess it shows that people really do play completely different game types.
At the very least, Car seems to be much less hindered by walls than Boat. Also, I could believe John Freeman being specialized in plugging things to the point where he never has to look at a USB to get it first try.
I use tilde as my toggle record button.
Sees power line. Sees green light. Sees red lights. Sees gate.
"I don't need this."
9:18 "You're excited. Well, be excited in heck please."
Why do I feel like this could be a Duke Nukem line
the part where you grabbed the battery and flung it away because you didn't expect to need it was just pure gold. and of course it's not one of those "lol he's bad at the game" things, it's just the closest i'm ever going to come again to a fresh take on a game i know like the back of my hand. there is a little kernel of genuine joy there for me. thank you for picking a random thing way out of your usual stomping grounds!
Nice of the Combine to give all these post-apocalyptic, bombed out, ransacked and half-collapsed houses some much needed shiny floor wax.
17:31 Wait a second, I thought the game wouldn't allow the player to pick up a bed, was that always a thing???
quintessential raocow solving a puzzle moment, when he comes up to the puzzle, looks at the hint of the puzzle, and promptly chucks it away
