  1. You can not expain the history of any country in the world in 5 min by stating "full history" . Even if you try, an overview about only 100 years, 100 years B.C. will take you about 1 hour at least. I dont get it.

  2. What? He didn't mention the Teutoburg Forest? The famous battle where the German tribes defeated the Romans?
Hitler was born Austrian, so he could annex it easily and without a single shot fired. What came later, we all know.
Estimates about total victims of WW2, including the Holocaust, in Europe were 70 to 85 million in Europe alone, if I can trust Wikipedia. Imagine that! 85 million, that's today's population of Germany! And the war wasn't restricted to Europe. Think about the USA and the war in the Pacific, the "peaceful ocean", if you translate the Latin word literally.
No, my friends! Every war is a crime, and people supporting a war are criminals. If people want a fight, alright, let them fight it out, but don't support either party. (I guess you know what I'm referring to.)
But I can tell you why Germany became so strong: We have a saying that no other language I know has: "Und jetzt erst recht!", meaning "When you're down on your knees, stand up and carry on even stronger."
My respect to the creator of the original video, history of Germany in five minutes, that's quite a task, and he did it fairly well. He skipped the middle ages and the Holy Roman Empire, but that's forgivable, although it was an interesting time that's covered by many other people who are interested in that era.

  3. I think there were too many important events left out. Arminius (hermann) for example. It's actually impossible to tell everything properly in 5 minutes i think. Germany had not actually started the First World War, they had an alliance obligation with Austria. The "Fuhrer" only came onto the pilitic stage after that. He was elected because he promised to end the great economic hardship of the late 1920s, thats what i read. After that he and the party controls very much in the country and the people havent realy a chance to vote "what they want" again. To begin many people were blind i think. They dont know what dark future will come. He was born in Austria, not in Germany. Hope that i am not wrong. Than anyone please correct me.

  4. – The German Empire included areas around the globe, but the areas were not shown in the film.
    – Germany is still the 4th strongest economic power after the USA, China and Japan in 2023. The UK, on the other hand, has slipped to seventh place since Brexit.

  5. You can't pack 2000 years of history into 5 minutes, never, for no country. They left out almost 1000 years – albeit, this time was more occupied with shaping the history of the world than with shaping a nation. Charlemagne, Otto I. to III., Barbarossa, Heinrich II and Canossa, the throne war between Staufern and Welfen, Gutenberg, Martin Luther, The thirty year war, Friedrich the Great… sighs Our world would not be what it is without those people or events. But since it happened in the "middle ages" (though nothing after Gutenberg latest can be considered "middle ages" any more), they don't count. Seems we have to make a distinction between "history OF Germany" and "history made IN Germany" (although, of course, many of these events involved other nations, too – perhaps history made WITH Germany would fit better).

  6. I am not (only) German. I am just human.
We are human. We are one. One Planet. One Futur.
    #NORACISM #NOHATE
I apologize for my German past.
According to the genetic test my parents did, I'm more Eastern European (Poland, Russia, Czech Republic, etc.) than German.
@ShadyShae London Love your Videos. Awesome – Sehr geil

  7. I think it's often really unfair to Germany,If the whole History of more than 2000 years and Development,is just broke down on less than 15 years of Nazi-Germany. It was a mistake and we'd learned from about it. The whole folk keep it in a collektiv mind, that something like that, wouldn't repeat itself anymore.
    Greetings

  8. The biggest thing is to know, when you stop fighting and then start something new.
I often think about this when I see the news that a lot of countries don t develope because nobody stops fighting.
And all the money is put into weapons and not into education,so sad to see.

  9. 4:04 German Empire controlling what is today part of Denmark, Belgium, France and especially Poland, because these territories where mayoríty German at the time.

Shady Shae: wow the German Empire spread even to Africa. huh? Africa is another Continent and not Bordering Germany.

however they did establish some colonies in what today is Cameroon, Tanzania and Namibia (all African Countries) building important Infrastructure there
