SEIKEN DENSETSU III <3<3<3
I've been wanting to play seiken densetsu 3 with the English patch for a while now I can't figure out how to get it to play on an emulator with the English patch on my phone
brainlord best arpg for super nintendo
23:41 what if I found it too Ysy?
yet you called super mario rpg an action rpg lol
Awesome thanks
Brandish 2 did what final fantasy origin couldn't, implement a map. Such a joke at square lulz
If you ever, and I mean EVER, bad talk Evermore, I'll send Amber Heard to your house.
What!? I thought this was a specific game. Messed up thumbnail and video title. Very misleading.
brandish 1 and 2 (especially 2 imo) are probably some of the best dungeon crawlers on the snes, period. The quirkiness of the controls gets greatly exaggerated. You just need to understand how the perspective works and it's not bad at all.
I liked the way Secret of Mana paused the game for the magic system. It made it possible to spam spells as well as give you a moment to strategize.
Star Ocean warned us about tha Rona….
illusion of gaia had a great story… the ending made me cry
Man, what the heck… is there some isolated gamer group where the difference between RPG and ARPG is understood? Cause the general gamer public has zero concept of it…
Watching this video again makes me think about the Lord of the rings game. I picked it up when I was probably 12. I guess because I loved The Hobbit and there were no adaptations of tolkien's work besides those old cartoons from like the '70s or whatever
Anyway, when I bought the game I also bought the strategy guide. And let me tell you the strategy guide does not help. This game is such a confusing mess.
Killed your cred from the very start by excluding the most fundamental one.
Every game? When the vid is less than half a hour?
Kinda sus if you ask me
Funny that someone's criticisms are my favorite aspects of a game. Secret of Evermore's market scene and mazes are great imo. My only complaint of that game is that it doesn't have a sequel. It feels short at the end, but I don't know if I'd want it to be longer. It's better to be left wanting more, than to have too much.
Man, he just shat all over my favourite SNES game, J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings! :'D I absolutely love that game!
turn base boooo…. I want to play the game not watch
Chaos seed has graphics that look Ps1 trying to mimic SNES graphics. Those backgrounds make it seem like it was to good for the SNES.
EVO search for Eden is one of the best games I have ever played. Loved it originally for the control of evolution, later beat it with save states seeing how extensive it was with the multiple endings. Sad the closest thing I have seen to this style of gameplay has been spore and ancestors. If they could accomplish a evolution choice system back then no reason we can't have something just as good now.
I am coming back to this review 4 years later and it is great
No Zelda, Chrono Trigger, Clock Tower….?
For me " Tales of phantasia" , " Star Ocean " and " Far East of Eden" were hidden gem of Super Famicom Jrpg.
good video
I would really recommend Terranigma, Seiken Densetsu 3 (specially for the 'you choose what to level up' part) and Secret of Evermore.
This is great stuff. That said – I know Knights of the Round and King of Dragons both have leveling systems, but to call those Action RPGs, and not Zelda? That seems like overthinking this a bit.
Bradish could be consided turn based, no? Everything moves by taking turns
Umm, Chrono Trigger and the FF titles are NOT turn based. They're active time. FF1, 2, 3, Tactics and 10 are turn based.
I actually I actually think that there's not many RPGs around. The thing is that most of the games that have progressive systems are not actually rpgs. In an RPG you should be role playing your character which is to say what he should do. I'm trying to send that like progressive systems doesn't make an rpg.
I don't think the definitions for these genres are as rigid as you make them. Not every RPG has experience points for example, especially in the earlier days – yet they were usually turn-baaed, so they were called RPGs. Likewise, some of these games you are calling "adventure" were almost exclusively called "action RPG" back in their day. Calling them "adventure" is a pretty recent change. Back in the 80s and 90s for example, "adventure" was usually used for point and click games like King's Quest. There's a lot of gray area here.
Not every, but a good amount of the more popular ones.
Secret of evermore relates to certain people. If you're introverted, a loner, likes solutitude, likes mood stuff, minimalism etc. YOu'll love it as the best rpg. If ur not this type of person well you wont like it at all.
Tales of phantasia is the best game on this list by far 🙂
never played all these games before, I would play the on my phone during free time , during long flights ,on a train or queuing
If you like RPGs I definitely would recommend secret of mana and secret of evermore.
The unique “magic” casting and “combo” mechanics is quite unique and interesting, may be a bit grindy at times (if you want to see how weapons are at their max level) but not necessary to beat the game.
My only complaint is that I got stuck in the “3rd world” that has the medieval vibe to it, because when you get separated from your dog and you have to control the dog to maneuver around mazes, there’s a small area behind a bookshelf that you can’t see so it is easily overlooked – well you need to drop down the hole behind it to continue into the next section of the maze.
You have no idea how much time and frustration and going around in circles i spent in that section of the game.
Anyway the rest of the game is great and you won’t have trouble beating it. I still highly recommend it and take my advice with you if you intend on playing it so you don’t get stuck like I did.
I played that game probably over 20 years ago and I’ll never forget it
11:02 By the way. The word "Neugier" is German and means "curiosity".
Imho, an action title can't be considered "Action RPG" just because it has experience or level ups. That's the least relevant things brought up when we discuss RPGs. The game has to at least have a party of characters that you meet along the journey around a vast world, with different abilities that can be improved, and a storyline that they are engaged with, in order to be considered an Action RPG. We shouldn't consider every Zelda Clone with experience points and level ups tacked on an "Action RPG". They are only Action-Adventure games, or simply Action games.
The Ys game are so ass…
I’m still trying to figure out star ocean’s skill system
Listening to people talk about old video games is my happy place
The fact that the game pauses while you cast your spell in Secret of Mana is a huge plus in my opinion. I hate that games don't really do this anymore.
I really, really hate that Legend of Mana 3 the hd remake definitely loses something in translation. It's just not up to par with being made bigger in scale. I think it really works for the time and snes but less so in it's modern update. I kinda feel the same way about Secret of Mana which I adore.
These reviews are super relaxing
I hated Drakkhen. That game sucked.
why do people say rpg game when the g stands for game…. so it's a rp game ;d or just a rpg without the game ;d
