I learnt speed slips just before plat and I’m now in champ! It’s such a good mechanic yes it can be timed bad sometimes but overall and very good mechanic to know!
You can’t just “know” speed flips at ranks like champ-low gc and expect to win. You have to be great at them. Tons of players in champ and even gc know how to speed flip but I can beat them with out even doing a thing.
speed flips don’t work wonders or give you an unfair advantage under gc. Under champ yes, but i’m champ, especially high c2 and throughout all of c3 they don’t give an advantage if not much at all. It’s because you meet the ball relatively at the same time, so someone with a decent kickoff counters the speedflip
fun fact: kickoffs happen at least twice due the fact that if it is 0-0, there is overtime.
Pretty much everyone at C2 – C3 speed flips on kick off in EU. So I wouldn’t say you have an advantage but it definitely helps.

Yaaaa Idk if I agree with the speed flip kick off. Wave dash kickoff is new meta cuz it’s way easier to read the opponent and u can still get there at the same time or make your read on the ball a lot easier. Idk this reasoning for speed flips doesn’t sway me. What are the other benefits?

I learnt it when I was gold. If played correctly kick off goals are soo busted with it.
Also there's many mechanics which use the same motion as a speed-flip, so learning the speed flip gives you other cool mechanics too.
Spookluke doesn’t realise everyone in champ speed flips now so it’s not a big advantage whatsoever it’s just being normal

Speed flips are good to have in your repertoire but not necessary every time. It's good to mix it up
Nah, countering speed flip kickoff really isn't that hard
at this point even platinium knows speedflip
hang on, I play with others who know how to speed flip while I dont yet I still usually win the kickoffs because they hit it first, it bounces off me, and goes towards their goal

Too bad champ 3s are slow & it just works out as a delayed kickoff for them
