Why on Earth would Blizzard replace Overwatch with a new game when they have just spent several years investing millions to set up the Overwatch League?
There might very well be new OW IP, but I would expect it to be a mobile game like the new Diablo or something, just to farm a few extra loot boxes from the casual playerbase that is slowly leaving the main game
"Monetizing eSports" is actually an Activision thing that they induced into Blizzard.

It makes no sense from a marketing stand point to release a new game but to not have it be overwatch? That is a completely different game is what he is talking about
Starcraft isn't even dead by meme standards, there are 200000 ranked games being played per day worldwide, despite the fact that blizzard stopped caring years ago.

Yeah this guy is either guessing with barely any info (like a finance guy over hearing convos in a hallway or something) or he's just a liar. Purely just the part where he talks about "Raynor's bar" is telling. Anyone who has read the novels would be able to tell you that the bar Raynor is initially in during SC2 is actually a bar that was frequented by him and Tychus when they were robbing trains and shit being space cowboy outlaws. He doesn't own it. Aaaaaaaaaand I just realized how much of a nerd I sound like… oh well.

Real or not I think they are fake but a major issue is the fact that Blizzard's image in the minds of fans is so bad that all of this seemed possible. Frankly based off the employees I have interacted with at conventions and various other outlets the idea of them gleefully talking about making a game with no white men like it's a big deal seems possible
