  1. I booted up my Wii U after hearing this news the other day. And I got the error message after failing to update to 5.5.6. Now, after being able to update to 5.5.6, my Wii U is stuck on the initial loading screen. I cannot get passed it

  2. Mine works fine, reads CDs but the digital games that are already in the memory, trigger the error, maybe erasing and download them again, but it seems that updating the wiiu make them more prone to break.

  3. Oi Bob. All the GBA hardware is baked into the DS hardware on the 3ds. GBA games running on VC isn't emulation its running on hardware. Nintendo likely just decided it wasn't worth it to finish off the software to run the GBA hardware in the DS side of the 3ds.

  4. Watching the wulf bros on my sick day off of work. To go off an old comments point for the switch needing to be backwards compatible, it didn’t hurt the PS3 but also I could see Nintendo getting away with remasters.

  5. I've been playing Breath of the Wild for the past 4 days on mine in anticipation of the release of Tears of the Kingdom. Everything seems to be fine, but I've always installed games to an external hard drive. Hopefully everything stays OK lol.

  6. Nintendo closing the eShop with no official plans to make the eShop games available ANYWHERE ELSE is just the height of clown world. And no one holds their feet to the fire. How many Youtubers have made videos titled "BUY THESE ESHOP GAMES BEFORE THEY'RE GONE FOREVER" at this point? Stop rewarding Nintendo for shitty behavior.

  7. Regarding the 3DS eShop / Pokemon issues, I have been mucking around with this for the past few days. I ended up buying all the 3DS games digitally, as I never owned them before, and for the Bank I downloaded that as well, and paid the $5 for the subscription. My understanding is that having the subscription is the only way to get far enough in to the Bank app in order to download (for free) the Transporter app.

  8. Some other stuff Bob checked out on early:
He stopped watching Star Wars when they left Tattooine because the movie was about hiring a ship.
He stopped watching Ocean's 11 when they hired the gymnast because the movie was about getting a heist gang together.
He stopped watching Avengers pretty quick because the movie was about Black Widow getting Bruce to join the team.

  9. On the subject of backwards compatibility of the Switch 2: Nintendo should have a look at Steam. Steam games (like half-life 2) that you bought 20 years ago are STILL playable on whatever device you have today… that’s how it should be… (They have even added pre-steam stuff from the 90’s, like half-life 1 and Quake, on there)

  10. Bob I know you aren’t the biggest Pokémon fan, but in the theory with Pokémon Bank is as follows. To download Pokémon Transporter you need a subscription to Pokémon Bank. If you can’t activate the subscription after the closure, you can’t download transporter which you need to get Pokémon from Gen 1-2 up to the 3DS era. Pokémon Transporter is a separate app that you can’t download directly from the eShop, it needs to open through the Pokémon Bank software much like many DLCs aren’t “found” on the eShop, but hidden through in software “links” TO the eShop.

Just wanted to let you know as somebody who has spent way to much time researching what games and apps to buy/download on the 3DS.

  11. There actually IS GBA hardware inside the 3DS. The ambassador games run it from that hardware. People with hacked 3DS’s use a program to inject roms into the Virtual Console or use Open_agb_firm to utilize the hardware. mGBA is garbo cause it’s software emulation
