41 Gedanken zu „BRIG of GRIEFERS try to RUIN the SHROUDED DEEP adventure (Sea of Thieves)“
  1. People who are saying that the brig did nothing wrong aren't considering the full scale of this entire encounter. Attacking new players wasn't the problem, it was when they chose to do it. "It's a pirate game" doesn't apply in this specific scenario. I agree that HitBo calling the alliance "New players" when they appear to be at least a few months into playing is a bad take, but the skill level of the players doesn't alter the core point.

"But HitBo was planning on stealing from the beginning!!"
Stealing is not the same thing as griefing, HitBo elaborated on this repeatedly. From the beginning his plan was to steal the loot, but only AFTER they completed the quest. His intention was never to interrupt or disrupt the adventure, only to engage in piracy once it was completed.

"They had emmissary up! They should expect to get attacked for that!"
If what the brig wanted was the flags and loot, they could have easily sold their loot and emissary and come back/hid nearby as reapers, by then the event would've either been completed or near completion. Not a revolutionary tactic, I've done it with FoFs and Fleets before. They clearly have enough experience in the game to know that the event takes a while to complete, and the alliance won't evaporate into thin air once it's done.

"So you're saying we shouldn't interrupt other pirates' voyages?"
This isn't the same as interrupting a world event like Ashen Winds, Fort of Fortune or a Skelly Fleet. Those events would still be around weeks and months later, so attempting them again later is feasible. Even sinking someone for their Gilded voyages isn't the same, because those are given out for free every year. This event is limited-time only, and the rewards (title and unique figurehead) cannot be claimed ever again. Similarly, the rule of "Loot/Flags = fair game" doesn't apply equally here like it does in the Tall Tales because of the time-limited nature. Tall Tales can be completed later, there is abundant opportunity for that. This event can't be, it will not be here forever. Let them complete the adventure first, and THEN attack them for the loot. It's not that hard.

"But it's one brig vs 4 sloops!!! They needed to strike during the flameheart fleet for the advantage!"
No, they didn't. We saw that after the event was already completed, that brigantine was still standing its ground and doing really well against the entire alliance. Even without that evidence, they had sails that can only be achieved by placing first in PvP tournaments, so clearly they are at least somewhat cracked at the game. They had no excuse for interrupting the adventure.

And I'll probably need to reiterate this for the people in the back: attacking newer/inexperienced players isn't the problem, it's specifically when and how they chose to do it.

  2. I agree with the event part, it is something players should be allowed to experience. Had griefers who essentially took over Merricks ship and killed players getting close to it – on day 1.. they never left Merricks ship..

  3. I agree with you all the way, that brig broke the pirate code, because at each outpost, there is at paper, that says to allow people to do their tall tales and to not grief new players, yes, it's a pirate game, but it's not a toxic game, this game is awesome, but unfortunate, people have to try and ruin it for others.

  4. i'm new to the game. Only been playing for a month. This makes me wary to do anything to help people in the game when I'm usually the most wholesome pirate I can be on there. I won't mess with people unless I'm being messed with and even then it's just to teach other pvpers a lesson in humility.

  5. I disagree that the brig attack is wrong. It’s clearly a part of the game and so is you saving them. I’ve been attacked and sunk so many times on tall tales, and while it might not feel good it is 100 % part of the game. It made for a better adventure for everyone in the end. For those who aren’t so fortunate, try and try again.

  6. Believe it or not, I think me and my crew have had the most insane shrouded ghost experience ever throughout the entire game out of everybody who has ever found it (In the wild, not from the shrouded deep).

  7. You are completely RIGHT!!!! The experience for a new player in this game is absolutely horrible..!!!

I started playing 4 months ago and I can handle my own now but I spent the first 2 months wanting to quit playing.
Being sank off outposts, being sank repeatedly knowing I have no loot. Being spawn tapped, being sank with level one flags also knowing there’s no loot.

People need to realize that everyone bought the game to have fun. The name of the game is sea of THIEVES. Not sea of GRIEFING.

  8. I’m 43 years old. Old for a gamer, sure! Not as good as kids today? FOR SURE! But I played this game 2 different times, and both times I didn’t know anyone to play with and the 1st time I was killed before I ever went anywhere but some people that just found it funny to see me die, and the second time I was looking for people to try the game with and was ridiculed and laughed at fir not knowing how to play! This game looks like fun, but so far it’s been awful! People like this are just plain bullies. SMH .

  9. It is extremely difficult for new players to get on board and I feel like Rare should do more to address the toxicity you can encounter this game. If you get a group of griefers the "tip" you get is to scuttle your ship.
Literally it's "lol ur bad you should just quit." And like, a lot of people will see that and be like, "okay" and stop playing, and then the game just slowly dies until there's no one left but sweaty double-gun tuckers.

  10. They attacked new players over very little treasure. That's not piracy, that's just slaughter.
Can't be piracy if there's nothing to pirate
The only thing they stole was everyone's fun

  11. The PvP crews order of fun things to do in adventure.
#1. Take on alliances as one boat vs. multiple (#1 for naval crews, such as SoC winners)
    #2. Steal from/sink Reapers
    #3. Camp/Tdm (this is #1 for many)
#3. Fight over world event, namely a FOTD or stack.
    #4. Tucks and memeing.
IT DOES NOT MATTER if they are doing an adventure, a tall tale, or sitting there afk. The brig was not toxic, they obviously just wanted to fight an alliance, because regardless of any loot, that in itself is very fun.

This video is way off the mark, and a really bad look. I mean you got their gamer tags? Yikes. Sadly par for the course on ego fueled SoT partners who think they are going to be “captain wholesome” because they know one boat is going to come and ruin their wholesome alliance content and they lack the skill to just fight it out and win. Don’t try and craft a false narrative of toxicity because your losing in the pirate game.

  12. How is it griefing? People in the alliance were flying emissary flags, some being Athena grade 5. There's a commendation for stealing those and selling them. Are they supposed to not try to get those because muh event?

  13. Well said sir. I’m a 3 week old player and this scenario is a daily experience for me. Those who post that this is part of the game, that could be true for an experienced player but it ruins the game for me.

  14. I'm kinda stumped on this, but more in favour of Hitbo ultimately. That being said, you can't really change em, but you can anticipate them.
People will justify their actions however they want and you can't change that.

Going "too far" will always be just above what people are willing to do, so those willing to attack in at the end of a time limited event will always see themselves justified, all you can do is just give them nothing to hang their hat on as an excuse.

Since the sloop alliance did all have athena or other emissaries, that's their reason. If they were just an alliance? That's reason enough. If they might have loot? That's reason enough.

I do remember tho in the early days with biweekly bilge rat adventures that the last few days are absolutely insane for this activity.

thanks for the vid and fightin the good fight!

  15. "Respect New Pirates and Their Voyage Ahead. May the old legends help to forge new ones: treat new pirates with respect and share your knowledge" Its a pirate game, but that doesn't give everyone free reign to be a dick for no reason

  16. Thats one of the Points why i not play'n anymore, not only them, but a lot of exp player goes nutz on you, try'n to archive alone things like finding atleast 1 tresure, only thing you get is like geting camped on youre ship, shit talked, and thats it. And thats why i wana have PvE servers tbh. But still love the game but i only watch it now in Vid's 🙂 only time i got anything was with a premate, who was kind a fair, and wanted to add me for atleast 1-2 Sessions, and we got some of it done, but sadly we got farmed after a time too. I don't know how exp they where. Like glowy sets, full skinn'd ship and things like that. But more important ! don't like to Comment often, but… Bro, i like youre Channel now even more, because u mess'd them up, and saved the newbis ! So cool to see, that not all of them that unfair. aaand,… that Mega was awesome, with the sips and stuff… Awesome to see ! (sry for bad english, and aswell thx for the Content !)

  17. I have around 130 days on the seas and I’m 100% with The Cursed Captain on this. That brig was toxic. They showed up with a Athena flag so going after reaper commendations is bull. Not only that I bet they already have those commms and plenty of gold. They were 100% trolling to troll. Real small what have ya energy.
Hitbo your the man and thank you for all ye do for the community!

  18. 54:25 I feel hitbo on this one 100%. I was trying to help a guy get the ashen curse and someone who had already got it joined our open crew. The guy grabs the key and jumps off the boat, trying to hide it in the water, he then leaves once we find out he took it. Luckily I retraced my steps back to the spot he dropped it and spotted it's glimmer in the water. I just wish people wouldn't grief like this but there's always ganna be griefers

  19. Do any of you actually believe this shit is real he’s fighting with his Griefers yet on half of his videos he’s literally teamed up with these guys. We are very aware that all of these videos are staged. You can’t be enemies with dude and then friends with dudes on the next video and then enemies and then friends and enemies and friends you are aware that I can see everyone’s gamer tag, right? Can you play with the same 12 guys on every video… lol this channel is a fucking joke
