The only reason anyone cares about pro play is so netdeckers can copy their decks and investors can see what cards will go up in price.
I didn't even see the cheat the first time, if not explained I would have missed it… not sure if judges are useless or just lazy
Lion come on man, you're being pretty hyperbolic here aren't you? "Every pro cheats." Don't be ridiculous.
I agree with crinos666 That card should be banned..Misty Raintutor to OP
I just realized why they call the game Magic : The Gathering. It's because the sanctioned events are basically gatherings of magicians! That's why there's so much misdirection and sleight of hand going on.
The fact that he ask what makes the sylvan library…

For major events they should use the hold cam like WPT poker events with a judge watching the players hold cards
Looks like an accident. Accidents happen in my LGS even during FNM.
Was this regular REL or competitive REL? If it was the latter, his opponent could have requested an immediate loss. (If it was regular REL, well… pretty much anything goes. At worst you'll get a judge wagging his finger at you and telling you "bad, bad".)
I like how he so blatantly tries to draw the card surreptitiously, without going through that customary motion of hovering the card (or rubbing it against the table here) for a few seconds to give his opponent an opportunity to take priority before the draw.
This dude now shows on the DCI banlist for 2 years starting 4/3/18. dude deserves it.
maybe the people going to the bathroom together are just peeing on each other
I have a good knowledge of magic, not magic the gathering but actual card tricks, what he just performed is called a Hindi shuffle, it's all control, he places a card to the top of his library and then shuffles moving only the bottom 3/4 of the library meaning the top so many cards don't ever change this is used in card tricks constantly, to use a Hindi or reverse Hindi shuffle should be an instant ban, a good card player could basically tutor every turn just using fetch lands!
My friend and I stop playing because of cheating 12 years ago at my local card shop. We caught it because this one kid always won every time then i decided to bring my camcorder in and caught him cheating and i did this for 2 months straight. Well at the end after I showed the card shop owner he had to pay back all the money and cards he won. But then after this other people heard about what happen and started cheating and it got bad.
Poker is played with the hole cam. Why can't MTG? You can see what's in his hand the whole time.
Wizards Of The Coast is the only company I know that encourages cheating.
