  1. While SC collaborates with many rank1 players, being a rank1 doesnt necessarely translate into being a good teacher. Joe tho is pretty pedagogical and he pays a lot of attention to detail which makes this content very enjoyable and informative.

How i would look to improve this experience:
1 – do not hesitate to pop notes on the screen, its useful to focus viewer attention, helps with information retention and ppl not mastering english wjll appreciate. For example, when Joe explains warrior cooldowns, showing their tooltips or a few written notes would help viewers focus on the numbers Joe is talking about. Even if this may be unnecessary for warrior players, ppl playing other classes may not know the exact cd duration of avatar vs colossus or their % modifiers. This make it so the video is not only useful for warrior players but for everyone else aswell.

2 – You have chosen VODs from ppl with ok/good ui which is great. It would have even better if they had an ability usage tracker so we could see and eventually comment on every global usage

3 – Joe likely studied these videos before going on and comment them as he never went back to comment on something but immediately stopped right after something happened. This is not always the case with vod reviews in the master arena series and we can clearly feel the difference. For viewers to absorb and retain information, it needs to be structured and clear. By definition viewers are here to learn, they may be very inexperienced and they are looking at this vods for the 1st time and they may feel overwhelmed. Preparing a script be4 registering the video commentary, even a non rigid one, really helps get the knowledge out in a clear and compréhensible way. Vods where the authors is commentating a video he never saw before, on the fly, feel very bad in comparison.

4 – at the start of every video segment, pop on the screen the points you want the viewer to focus on if say the video has been chosen to illustrate one or more specific aspects of gameplay

5 – if the vod submitter could open and show detail at the end of the match that could be interesting to comment

I'm sure I can come up with more ideas but writing from a mobile isnt fun 😅

  2. Yes please, VOD reviews. I wouldn't mind watching any class honestly. Stuff like this is very insightful and I can't justify paying 20 a month for Skill Capped. $10 would be fine but $20 seems steep especially when I don't care to play Classic.

  3. IMO this is some of the best content to help viewers improve. Ive used skill capped for a while and its fantastic but solething about the vod reviews helps close that gap in practical knowledge.

I started watching cdews vod reviews for healers and gained about 800 rating shortly after.

  4. So frustrating when I'm literally doing everything Joe is saying but stuck at 1700 – 1800 with 3/3 win loss nearly every game. I'm ALWAYS with a shitty healer and vsing lower mmr players. it's so hard to climb out of this bracket.

  5. Can you clarify if Skullsplitter requires rend/wounds for maximum damage? I know it causes them “to expire immediately,” but from my limited testing, damage doesn’t change regardless of which DOT is on (or not).

  6. lol dude you dont see character on the screen . How do you get fun with this game. Check out the screen none empty side over there. the game is so complex and with the every new expension the game is getting more complex. Pro players can keep continue. I wıll not …

  7. Love this style of content, really nice to see what the various levels of mistakes or tweaks are from 1400-3k. It often feels daunting to realise and try and change 10 different things that have been pointed out when a couple of them are "small" things elite players do for the last 10%. Keep em coming! (Please do a Disc Priest one)

  8. I watched this video the day is was released because ive very recently picked up arms as alt, but i wasn't really performing well on it which was to be expected because ive literally never once played the class until now. After listening to some of the things hes saying in this video and seeing what im doing wrong, i was able to make some corrections to my gameplay, like knowing how to properly use Sharpen now, and ive gone up over 400 rating and im still climbing. Maybe videos like thsr might also help other players eith different classes similar to how this one did for me. I was able to recognize more mistakes in my gameplay and correct them and now im just farming rating. Thanks guys!
