Great video thanks. Just come over from WoW after 8 years. This game seems so much more in depth. I'm about 1 week into it. Love it so far.

I got through 2:13 of the video before i decided i need to play ff14 lol, well i guess it's more fair to say play again as i did play for like a week back at ARR launch but had to quit when my PC died.

Late, but how do you find out what each server is known for?

I need help, I play like 10 hours. I get to level 15, I stop playing, I come back years later and I take the opportunity to make myself a different character and a different profession, I play about 10 hours. New players…autoface off? absolutely not. Turned it off, got into combat a while later, and couldn't figure out why, despite literally standing on the mob, as a ninja, I was unable to use any of my main 1,2,3's at all..except every once in a while, it worked. Assumed it was a bad internet connection and just hoped it would fix itself soon. Then I eventually noticed it said the target wasn't in range. After a few minutes of googling, I saw a post that reminded me of the autoface thing I had changed…changed that back and it was fine again.

Maybe autoface off is great for people who know precisely what they're doing in endgame content and such, but this is a beginners guide. this tip is NOT for beginners.

Just started like a week ago and have been playing a little every day after work. Chose to go with Marauder and am now level 27. Looking forward to seeing what I get when I hit 30! Is it bad that I also went around and picked up at least a level 1 skill in all the little crafting and gathering jobs?

you can choose to do glamour
you can choose to do endgame
you can choose to do gathering
you can choose to do crafting
you can choose to do housing
you can choose to do everything else
EXCEPT you need to do the story.
this goes againts the idea of a themepark mmo, we need to stop defending having content gated behind the line in the themepark that can be bought a "fastpass" to skip.

Went back to the game after 5 years of break. I’m still in AAR, but want to beat it asap so that I start with the expansion.

I would say that, if you're planning on playing heavensward-endwalker, prepare for a thousand years of post ARR/pre heavensward tedium. Easily the most annoying part of the entire game but just push through. Heavensward is worth it just for story alone.

Also, don't buy armor or weapons for jobs that unlock at 50/60/70 ahead of time. Job quests give you some very solid gear that can easily last 10-20 levels or more
