  1. Top 20 at worst. Top 12? at best. Hard to hit sometimes. Good combos. Good speed. Good ground movement. Good air speed. But struggles to kill sometimes unless she use up air or can edge guard really well. Good OOS. Roller.

  2. When the game first came out I thought inkling was high tier. A month later I thought inkling was the 5th best character in the game (only being beat out by pichu, peach/daisy, olimar/alph, and pikachu during the time). By the time banjo came out I thought that inkling was maybe top 10. After Terry released I thought inkling was bottom top tier (I was starting to question if inkling was even top tier in the first place). After Byleth came out I thought inkling was overrated and that inkling is flat out high tier and 100% not top tier. If you think inkling is top tier, you are simply overrating the character. Not gonna lie tho, inkling is a good character but inkling isn't worthy of being at the top with the best of the best like pikachu, joker, palutena, zss, peach/daisy, etc. Inkling just has to many things that can't exactly be at the same level of top tier and inkling is just hard carried by really good players at this point. And if you got the best inkling dropping the character then you know there is something wrong with inkling in the current meta. I would consider inkling to be on the higher end of high tier but definitely not at the top of high tier. Inkling has too many good tools to be dropped to mid tier so i think inkling will be stuck as a high tier through out the rest of smash ultimate's meta. Currently I think inkling is on the higher end of high tier but I wouldn't be surprised to see inkling moved down to mid high tier in the future.

  3. I remember when I first unlocked Inkling when this game first came out how much fun it was to play as Inkling and how well she fit in as a character and easy to play. I was afraid Inkling was going to be like Mega Man which is a character I don't play well with at all. I will admit Inkling isn't my best character at all though.

  4. I don't know if anyone will read this.
    But
Inkling is my personal favourite and main and if I were to give some advice on how to play the character, I would say don't sleep on back throw. While not as powerful as Ness' (as far as I have seen) it's really good at picking up KO's near ledge. Consider it, it works for me.

  5. Inkling is so hard to judge. Her only weakness is kill issues. And I grant, this can be a significant weakness, if you can't kill then you can't win. But Inkling has amazing damage output and nice combos. Not to mention, Inkling is really fast, and has an amazing (practically un-edgeguardable) recovery. Inkling's upthrow into upair is great, but other than that you won't be earning kills until absurd percents.

I can hardly stand watching Cosmos play Inkling, it's highly entertaining because he spams roller, but it just feels so skilless because he's absolutely just fishing for a kill. (Unless of course he can get in an upthrow-upair) It's so hard to remember that Cosmos is actually a really great player when he's literally just fishing for Roller. I respect him much more when he plays Corrin now. Watching Space isn't even much better, he seems more skillful than Cosmos, but at the same time he just spams Bair in neutral because it's an amazing move. I think maybe if someone really dedicated themselves to Inkling they'd do better than Space or Cosmos, but even then there's almost no new tech to learn with Inkling, meaning whatever we can do with her is probably all that can be done.

Once again, she's an amazing character in every sense of the word except that she struggles to kill. Where does that then land her on the tier list? For me, it depends on the day. I'd say she's either at the very top of high tier, or the very bottom of low tier. My roommate has played Inkling for all of Ultimate, but he's also been trying to drop her a lot but just hasn't found someone else he likes. I have more MU experience against Inkling than any other characters in this game, and I think bottom of top tier or top of high tier is where she belongs.

  6. As an Inkling main, I firmly believe that Inkling can only be a top tier if you are a definitive, hardcore pro. What I mean by that is that she's not like Mario, Yoshi, Roy, Palutena or any of those good characters that you can just pick up and play willy-nilly. Inkling requires a clear understanding of how her moveset and combos works along with hours of practice.

My biggest issue with Inkling is easily struggling to finish the stock without a doubt. Seriously though, even Sheik has an easier time getting KOs than Inkling!

There are times (almost constantly) that I'd be fighting an opponent who keeps shielding the roller and jumping to avoid grabs, they'd be up to over 250% and I STILL couldn't KO them! And by the time I finish that one stock, I already lost 2 stocks along with over 100% damage on my third!!! And that's with light and middle weight fighters. If I fight a heavy… Forget about it!

I also struggle with her combos, but that's a personal issue. Either way, I see her Top Tier potential, but she would normally be a high tier.

  7. I definitely see inkling as top tier, and a lack of results doesn’t discourage that as she can really do anything as the only weakness she has can be made up for in skill. Now don’t get me wrong, she’s not the best in the game (maybe top 3rd of top tier) and another reliable kill confirm would be nice, but they want the characters to be good, not overpowered. Say for example they buff inkling so she has more good kill confirms, well congrats, you have just made a new melee fox or a new brawl meta knight. No character should be good at everything.
