  1. 4:22 …Is that a potential Softlock? It looks like if you jump into the little hole the Bowser Statue fell down from as the Spin Block stops spinning under you, you'd be trapped there — and with no time limit, you'd be stuck forever. I don't think that something like this would happen at the 23rd spot, but…

  2. @title: Oh, are we playing A Rose in the Twilight again?
    Death count: 725 (18 today)
    Moon count: 101 (1 today, at 6:33)
Free coin starts: 1, at 0:07
(0:070:11) Oh, wow. You got the frame-perfect free coin completely by accident. Nice.
(0:16) I typed that into Google Translate, and it's Spanish for "the music is half crap". (Actually, it used a different word for "crap", which I refuse to type.)
(0:38) Because of the frame-perfect game start as the demo was grabbing the Yoshi coin at 0:07.
(0:55) "Santuario Etero" is apparently Italian for "Straight Sanctuary". So much better than those curvy sanctuaries. 😛
(1:36) That's pretty clever. And thus, the 1F0 Level Design Contest continues!
(2:07) Welp, shouldn't have hesitated there.
(2:37) Interesting that those star spheres change color if Mario's fiery. They must share the same palette as Mario's pants.
    (2:43) Bonk! They're blue now.
    (3:16) L-L-L-L-LUDICROUS KILL!!
(4:23) Potential softlock spotted! If small Mario jumps up onto that turn block as it stops spinning (which a player is likely to do to get the Yoshi coin), he'll be trapped, and with there being no time limit, it would be a true softlock. (However, if there happens to be an invisible pop-up mushroom overlapping the Yoshi coin, to guarantee that the player is super so they can break the turn block, then disregard this softlock alert.)
EDIT: Maxodex himself confirmed that there is indeed a hidden pop-up mushroom there.
(5:05) To get that Yoshi coin, simply time your jump so the turn block stops spinning while you're above it.
(6:27) Triple combo! Fortunately, the ? block's shell must've been guaranteed to be in a good sprite slot for Thwomp-killing.
(6:32) Purple MOON!!! Also, a Yoshi coin here as well, which strikes me as odd. You'd think this would be a moon-only room.
(7:19) Oh, so if you go into the moon room, you're locked out of getting this Yoshi coin (unless you manage to backtrack), so the moon room's YC is meant to make up for that, I assume. (This could also mean that it's possible to get 6 YCs in this level, if you are able to backtrack.)
(9:03) Torpedo Ted fireballs? Interesting to have already-placed Torpedo Teds here.
(10:3210:36) The timing of everything here tends to be lousy.
(11:43) Oh, this two-tile window actually acts like a boss door, allowing you to enter while centered. Nice.
(11:49) The jump didn't jump, due to SMW's funky slope physics…

  3. 9:25 level maker guy/girl/misc… do you mean to tell me that you just wanted to reward the player with a single life without unveiling any secrets or shortcuts?? Well, that's certainly a new and exciting use of the popup 1-up…
