42 Gedanken zu „Haxorus in Pokemon Red | Solo Run“
  1. Just starting the video, but I'm doing the rare early comment because I'm basic, and haxorus is my favorite shiny so I'm hyped. I'll only be more hype when you do a staryu run, because that starfish is a LEGEND.

  2. Seeing Haxorus get up to 999 Attack was a glorious moment 😁 Dragon not being a physical type held it back a bit, but that's just an unfortunate limitation of Gen 1; I think your point about a Special-oriented Dragon-type with early Outrage would be super interesting to see. On that front, I think Hydreigon (with Gen 7 moveset—also gets Dragon Rage in starting learnset) or Goodra (with Gen 7 moveset) would be good options to try. Hydreigon would have 125 Special with a pretty solid base 98 Speed, while Goodra would only have base 80 Speed (still respectable by Gen 1 standards) would have whopping 150 Special. Having a "Dragons try to break the game" special event at some point in the future would be pretty funny to see.

Also, my favorite sprites in the video were the Arcanine sprite (the pose reminds me a bit of the DPPt sprite), as well as the Dragonair and Dragonite sprites.

On one final note, for some reason I've always wanted to see a Dragon/Steel regional form for Haxorus. I think it'd be a natural progression for Haxorus, and getting STAB on Iron Head would be pretty huge in a post-Fairy meta.

  3. Hey man! I’m gonna be participating in tomorrow’s event! A fan of this run! Haxorus definitely is one the coolest designs specially with that beautiful black ✨ looking foward to more vids!

  4. Fucking LOVE ha Corus and this video I’m an og gen wunner and been a fan awhile!

First time using haxorus was violet and it was my favorite Pokémon to us, call it a hipster garchomp 🙂

Let me guess optimum move set for gen 1:

    1. Swords dance
    2. Body slam
    3. Earthquake
    4. Rock slide / outrage

  5. It's actually really nice seeing dragon types going ham with actual dragon moves considering how badly the introduction of fairy types did a dirty one on them. I'd imagine Hydreigon would be the best of the non-legendaries for cross-gen considering it's special focused and Outrage/Hyper Voice/Dragon Rage/Bite is such a solid starting moveset, but Ampharos and standard Necrozma might also be worth a look.

Enjoy your holiday, you've earned it.

  6. If you're looking for a special attacking Dragon pokemon that learns outrage, Use Goodra, its a special attacking dragon. with the way Gen 1 works it'll be base 150 sp.Atk
In gen 6 and 7 it learnt Outrage naturally, however in Gen 8 when they removed some moves, they also decided to edit learn sets from pokemon
From reason decided they removed Outrage from Goodra but it has to be taught by TM instead for some reason. Use the Gen 7 learn set for Goodra, like Haxorus.

  7. have a great vacation! this run was really interesting, it's cool to see when the slow level up group starts to matter. also unrelated but i appreciate how transparent you are about the youtube algorithm stuff along with all the work that goes into the videos themselves😊

  8. ~1:10 (in opening monologue): I'm pre-predicting this guy will finish (easy prediction 😜), but that his slow growth rate and slow speed will ensure a middling place in the rankings (his moves are good, but that speed stat — and even more importantly, his GROWTH RATE — will DEFINATELY slow him down.)

  9. I'm gonna go out on a limb but I might have the most watch time here since I put these runs on as I fall asleep. It's to the point that I actually picked up Pokemon for the first time since childhood, did a solo run, and got a really decent time because I knew about all of the gimmicks. The only hiccups were when I had to do the tedious stuff that gets skipped over. Also not saving before the elite four and using all my ethers 😭

  10. Hey Matt!
I’m sure this has been said before, but Goodra with a Gen 7 move set seems like the definitive pick if you want to see a Dragon type just run over Kanto with Outrage.
Due to the Chansey rule, it’s 150 special seems primed to get a hugeee amount of use in Outrage.
(And having another high power special move starting out in Aqua Tail seems like the way to go and help with any early bumps in the road)
