Pointless information
Im not sure if its more exp/ hour but theres about 6 gold nodes relatively close together to the left of Brightwood, its by the Iron Bend and is close to the border of Ebonscale reach. Iron is mined a bit faster, but most clustered iron nodes are pretty contested. Gold isnt as much and this spot is sort of out of the way for most people even though its less than 600m from Brightwood

Yea mining iron veins gives more xp. But theyre harder to find than boulders. Boulders give between 85 to 55 xp. Iron gives 150 to 115 xp. Boulders are also easier. Giving the time to find iron vein compared to boulders, grinding boulders is much faster
