  1. i kinda see that the most playerbase is much better than the average player back in vanilla…
but i cant get, why most of the top players today are pretty weak compared to the top duellists from back in the days…

at least if i compare rogues of today with my playstyle back then…
my theorie is that every rogue tries to play that "perfect" pvp stun/dmg rotation,
EVERYBODY saw for the 100th time on almost every rogue that isnt braindead…
but i think that is exactly the problem…even mediocre pvp'ers KNOW what is coming…

in know that this is in many cases irrelevant if he dies in stunlock or dmgnuke,
but in some cases it will change the outcome of the fight…

best example is this bullshit how rogues nowadays use sap…i can see why people thinks its a good way to prepare etc…
but i dont get why rogues dont see the downsides of that sap-spam…even not after early-breaks of sap what is a obvious fail

but then there are MANY cases in which saping is a bad decision without people recognizing that it was a failure in that situition
because its not a obvious fail like an early break or something like that
as a rogue you should dictate when and how the fight is going to happen, but sap gives enemies time to adapt/prepare for the situation

most players would never be able to prepare properly for the immediatly threat that comes out of nowwhere, but give the same player
some seconds to think about the situation, what is happening, what can he do etc…makes in MANY cases a huge difference…

even worse that so many rogues begin the fight with sap against 1 enemy…
i mean there is a UNAWARE enemie and so many rogues starts with sap and
screaming im here and i will attack you soon…(even in a duel it can give your enemie a little bit more time to react or guess where you are)
and yeah, i know that it can make sense in some situations.

mistakes even the best rogues nowadays do…and i really think its this "perfect numbers and stats playstile" or the "perfect stunlock rota" that was getting common pvp-rogue knowledge
over the years the game developed. i mean its not a hard techniqu, but back in the days 1 or maybe 2 rogues out of 10 would be able to do it.
the good ones did it and it got copied…but in my opinion the sweet difference between on of the best rogues against THE best rogue wasnt something about technique or rotations..

it was more about the biggest strengths a rogue MUST have…the mindset of a dirty, unfair and dishonorable psychopath…that would do ANYTHING to be on top…
its hard to explain because this can even go into deeper psychological techniques and mindgames
and i can tell you for sure (at least in vanilla, cant talk for retail cuz after wotlk i was out) that this mindest was the only difference between the best rogues
and the one that was even better

but seemse to be an lost art after all the time…

and NO, i dont say there are no more good rogues out there…my opinion is just from the people you are able to see playing (streams/videos)
technically there are many really good rogues…but only 2 of them who sometimes have moments of that mindset
but i guess arent aware of that
