  1. Report: The Switch Pro 2 Releases Tomorrow. Nintendo Decices To Completely Skip Over Switch Pro In Favor of Even More Power. Source: My upstairs Neighbor yelling in his shower at 2 AM.

  2. This makes sense, I completely agree! Like everyone says Nintendo is a business and they think $$ first! I can see them releasing the "Switch 2" launching it with a new mainline Mario and then they also come out with a Zelda double pack with BOTW/TOTK! 😆 and we will all buy it and complain about it 🤣

  3. Why would Nintendo share their hardware plans with an outsource company? If there's any legitimacy to this rumor, then they simply wanted the update developed while they were still actively developing the DLC and not have to go back later to make it. It says nothing about when the new hardware is actually releasing.

  4. Yeah, I think that Nintendo might sell the current Switch models alongside the new generation of console that sports all the newer bells and whistles. It's like phone companies selling last year's models alongside the new version of their phones, because they ultimately have a larger market share and make more money that way.

  5. We know Nintendo wants to transition to consistent and less significant hardware upgrades every couple of years, a bit like phone models. Where customers buy a new switch when they want to, instead of relying on longer generations.

    This allows Nintendo to consistently develop games for both new device releases and the current devices. It also allows them to not have to market upgrades as much; they still want people buying the original switch V2 and the OLED on the shelves, in addition to the new release. Again, like the phone market, some customers will go for the brand new models, and other customers will go for lower hardware for a lower cost. Yes older devices will slowly fade out as new devices releases, but it’s much more consistent then one entire generation. The only question is when they begin to stop software support on older devices like the OG Switch. But again, that decision is at Nintendo’s leisure and not reliant on the success of a “generation”

  6. So maybe a dumb question but are they basically hinting that we will have to buy this new switch model in order to play an unbroken version of scarlet violet? This gem Pokemon flat out sucks the fact that people deny it is just hard to understand

  7. I do worry people are ignoring 2 potential interpretations;

    1. Just because it might be a "new model", doesn't mean it's an "upgrade". The Switch Lite for instance, a model like that may need different optimization.

    2. Scarlet/Violet themselves need the upgrade. If everything else in that post is about pokemon, why wouldn't that comment be? It could mean that pokemon models in general will be new "switch models".
