  1. I still love the OG.
if u want to experience the plasma cutter and Line gun at its prime OG dead space is still the go to.

also i dont understand how u are saying that the game "feels" same in the remake,
the walking and movement doesnt feel the same at all, it felt tanky and weighty in the original which i liked. and the combat is completely overhauled and altered in remake.

i love the walking aninations in the OG,remake isaac's movement feels off.

also necromorphs felt way more animalistic and stalker like beast in the Original, they tried to stalk you, creeped slowly around the corners, and had better and varied reactions upon getting hit sometimes go full on angry and made a rush at you.

in the remake they feel robotic terminator relentless machine that barely care about or react to pain, they shrug off bullets as if they were nothing and continously approach you menacingly only getting stunned if limbs break off. they show no sign of caution unlike the original.

also the weapons had tons of knockback effect( like enemies literally staggered and stumbled backwards physically) and stunlock potential in OG dead space, u can totally stand and hold your ground and even pushback the necromorphs as well as stunlock them to de^th. remake weapon barely have knockbacks or interruption potential. OG game was about precise aim and strategic positioning and tactical sh^^ting and eventually doing a pushback, remake is just kinda frantic spray and pray u have to constantly move around cuz u are fighting robotic machines that have no caution.

i do think it is one of the greatest if not the best remake of all time, easy 9/10 amd must play but the design philosophy of combat is so different and i preferred the original's combat, despite having no impressive "peeling system" and gory/bleed effects the combat still somehow felt way more brutal in the Original, weapons hit hard and stunned the enemies even isaac took like solid 2 seconds to regain composure upon getting hit by necromorphs, in remake isaac barely flinches getting clawed, he barely gets knocked over, even if u stomp on an explosive barrel isaac barely flinches and looks slightly annoyed instead of getting faceplant on the floor like he did in the original

meanwhile in the Original u can stun the spriniting necro with a sh^t from just the plasma cutter : physically staggering and sending it stumbling backwards, then hit his legs again making it fall face first on the floor giving it whiplash and as it tries to regain it posture with its claws u sh^^t its arms off and deliver finishing blow. u could totally deliver a beatdown to the necromorphs cuz how punchy the OG weapons were.

i know i sound like neatpicking hater but i really preferred original's combat design ever since i played dead space1 for the first time last year and fell in love ever since. i just wish "faster = better by default" wasnt the combat philosophy of modern game design. imagine if they remade demon souls and replaced the combat with Dark souls3's faster paced combat.

remake is an improvement in all the aspecrs but as a combat wh^re i absolutely adore the combat design of the OG. it was flawed but still a masterclass design

it took me solid 20 mins to type all these wtf i regret it already

  2. I remember when Dead Space first came out, I was only 12 and so it was abit too scary for me at the time to play it on my own (I preferred Gears of War at the time), but I watched my Dad play it through – we would sit in the living room with the curtains drawn in our dressing gowns and it was awesome.
Then when I stopped being a wuss and played it through on my own, although I kinda knew what to do, it was entirely different when it’s you in control, and it was epic.

Really looking forward to playing this through myself soon when I get the chance, but life gets in the way.

Awesome video man, great breakdown. ✌️

  3. Your back!!!! Another great vid bud. I was really looking forward to hear your opinion on this game. I never played the original dead space. So this game was like a fuckin religious experience…lol. keep up the good work homey

  4. I was optimistic when they announced a remake. Then they showed the frostbite engine logo and I was like "OH GAWD WHY!!!😭😭😭" but reviews came out saying how good it was so I bought it and now I'm on new game plus.
