  1. I have an amazing beginning guide (not beginner's): When you just spawn, loot the plane and everything around it, and craft yourself molotovs, a bow, arrows and a weak spear. Then, head to the main cannibal village, loot the heck out of it, and get in the cave wich entrance is in that village (at this point, it should be late, or even night). Go find the modern axe (just don't forget to loot the cloth boxes) and get out. Then, go to the yacht, loot it, and pick up the cassette player. Then, go to the snow biome, and find the front of the plane. Once you are there, take the flare gun. After that, you go to the boar hill, get some boar and deer skin, craft a spear bag, and fill it with weak spears. At this point, you go to the end cave (with the modern bow) and you go get the modern bow and modern arrows (use the weak spears to kill mutants, since their throw damage is so overpowered). This will take you around 3 in-game days: easy, quick, and amazing. At this point, you have: The modern bow with modern arrows, wich is the best weapon to kill cannibals and hunt small pray. You have the modern axe, wich is a great weapon to block with, does lethal damage, is pretty fast and you can cut down trees very quickly with it. You also have 5 weak spears on you, the best weapons to kill mutants. And of course, the flare gun, the easiest and most effective way to burn enemies. And then, you can start building your base!

  2. I would recommend search for the modern axe first day and set-up camp after, also you could make a save game with say katana and modern axe collected, so that if you want a new world you could just start that save instead of needing to get them again.

  3. You dont need small rock pouch neihter warm suit. Warm suit is usseles since it takes all your armor slots but provides 0 armor its still better to wrap your axe with cloth and light it up instead of trying to kill 4 boars to complete the suit. Also upgraded spear is vital because it one shot any animal if you throw it.

  4. I'm actually replaying this game, in hard mode now, and there's something funny I noticed. The general recommendations were to avoid ponds and the plane crash site, obviously because of the frequent patrols at those areas, but I happened to do the exact opposite without any issue. My starting point was near the geese pond, and I slept at first in the nearest campsite. I quickly started to build a house in the middle of the geese pond, and once I could make a bed, it became much easier. The enemies can't reach my house, and I have in the plane the free food and soda replenished at every load. Sure, there are patrols that come almost daily, and sometimes even mutants, but I just need to wait in my house until they leave, which usually happens when I go to sleep. And it still gives me plenty of time to cut more logs to extend my house. Only once, I taunted a cowman a bit too much, and he managed to reach my house from underwater, destroying it in the process. But loading the last save fixed that. Anyway, though I can guess it will become much more dangerous later, I see it as a perfect spot for early game, mixing free food, plenty of trees, and still some activity to not get bored. I like it when I don't feel totally safe when I go cutting a few dozen of trees. That's why I play the game in hard mode and not pacifist/creative mode.
My suggestion is however only good when the crash site is near that pond, and only someone with a bit of experience can fully use it. Mistakes are quickly turning for the worst. But that's exactly what I find thrilling.

  5. So a big thing is that the cave enemies do, in fact, respawn. It takes them a very long time. I had one respawn in a 120 day single player game, probably about 90 days in, but it respawned everything.

They also can respawn in multiplayer as some kind of glitch. If only some of the players go into a cave, it seems like when the ones who didn't go into the same cave, everything everyone killed can sometimes respawn. Not always tho, which is why it seems like a glitch rather than a purposeful feature.

Long story short always watch your back down there👌
