I've never played a metroid game altough i have tried playing prime on an emulator and have tried 20 min of super i've never seemed to be motivated enough to see it through. but now that there's no big holiday game for nintendo other than pokémon I was thinking about picking up metroid dread, and i was wondering if could start with dread and just watch recap of the story or is there a good beginner friendly metroid I can play to get in to the series. For the final Smash character, I don't think we're seeing any of the "most-wanted" picks from the fans.
Realistically, I think we're seeing a character with advertising/marketing potential, like an 8th Gen Pokemon rep or (god forbid) the protag for Shin Megami Tensei V.
I personally DON'T want Sora in Smash. At the end of the day, he's another anime swordsmin. That said, I'm sure it would make a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans happy and I don't always get what I want. My top picks for the last remaining Smash fighter are Crash, Robotnik, Waluigi, Master Chief, Doom Guy, or Sakurai himself. (Also, I'd be fine with Magikoopa)

Bob, Sonic ‘06 is WAY worse than Sonic Forces.
Will, the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of Sonic Unleashed are WAY different games than the Wii version. Still rough to play through. Terrible pacing and obvious padding. Cheesy story. Once you beat the game though it’s fun to go back to when you’re able to choose what levels to play. MUCH better than the Wii version.

Regarding Sonic Unleashed, Will (and Bob for that matter) buy it on Xbox whenever it's on sale! Definitely better than the Wii version imo. (I've played both.) Werehog levels are not good, I will admit, but the daytime Sonic levels are so frickin' good, I think it makes up for it if you're a Sonic fan.
Also ALSO of note, MOST of the glorious daytime Sonic levels are available in the Unleashed mod for Sonic Generations if you have it on PC (and if you want to skip the werehog levels entirely.)
I don’t know who owns the character Sora. But (in my opinion), you can’t have Sora without Goofy and Donald. Maybe Disney IS the reason why we don’t have Sora in Smash.

Yeah this controller stand thing MS has really messed up. Had a similar problem ordering ours and ended up with no battery cover. You probably will need to contact the microsoft store to order the battery cover but you should be able to get which ever color you need for the controller.
Hey Wulff bros! Do either of you know of a good video game handheld refurbishing/repair service? I saw that etsy had a few options, but I don't know who to trust. I have a ds lite, dsi, and gameboy advance sp that need fixin.

A little late, but the Wii/PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed is definitely way worse than the PS3/360 version. The Wii had more limitted daytime controls as well as having this dogshit boost that locked you into boosting for like 5 seconds while not letting you turn, I also don't even think it let you drift or quickstep. The PS360 version much more resembles the modern controls/physics of Colors and Generations (plus the level design is totally different)

Hey Bob and Will, hope you are well! Been meaning to ask this question for weeks…. I'm a big fan of hack and slash games like DMC, GOW, ninja gaiden and Nier. The demon souls remaster on ps5 looks great and has also made me want to try dark souls trilogy but i know it's very different to what I'm used to. I have picked up bloodborne and nioh as I've heard they are slightly faster and a good place to start for a player like me, is this true? and if not, what is a good order to play the souls and souls like games for an amateur like myself? Bob I know you are a fan of the series and hope you've got some tips for a noob like me?
