This currency debate was funny lol
I'm confused how having unspendabl ethereal currency is different to unspendable pred currency both can't be spent lol
The convo at 15:00 just shows bearded is desperate for at least SOMETHING.
These people are so narrow minded , complaining about progression when they will have the best thing in gameplay since Paragon's death , if you need to see how many games you played in your profile only to make you play one more match then you have mental issues .
Ethereal cons after paying – can’t play game, can’t spend credits
Pros- play when it comes out, don’t have to pay to play.
Predecessor cons after paying- ant spend credits when game comes out right away
Pros- play after you pay, get value after you pay, future shop with credits you’ve already paid for waiting for you.
Ethereal is basically paying for a pre order game while pred basically doesn’t have pre order just a release date I pick pred
Jelly just mad and it’s ok he has a bias.
My issue with OP I have a few I already stated. But introducing ranked in a game with this many bugs just doesn't make sense. They are doing tournaments with a buggy game and it's just not good from a viewer perspective even.
I'm at least glad the gameplay for pred is very smooth and refinded. I would much rather prefer that than having all the systems implemented with buggy gameplay(OP), however this does not excuse the fact the game would be better with a progression system and a shop. I also agree the coins are kinda bizarre, but I think I'm somewhere in the middle. The problem lies within the player's expectations for the game, and most players probably did not watch that rgsace video telling us there will be no shop, therefore players will be very confused and mad when they spend money "expecting" somewhere to use the coins. Since I'm up to date with this I don't have as much of a problem with it. This is also the difference between pred and ethereal, because when you buy the coins for ethereal, you have no expectation for the coins until release.
Anything on console play ? Timeline and such. Thanks !
such a spicy, great episode! we need more bearded, seriously. the first real discussion for a long time
As far as the two companies copying each other, this is just speculation and it is possible that they aren't actually copying each other.
League of legends has gold bounties
Tell Jelly to consider salvageable knock offs I.e. if knocked off the map, dashes, blinks or other abilities can be used in an attempt to counter. Wrong game but a Howie ult, for example, could get him back within map reach. Or two shinbi dashes.
Mangoose thank you for the chat!
About currency discussion, I don't think it makes sense to compare Patreon type of support/rewards and regular buying the game. Patreon is "pay to support the game" and bonuses are… bonuses. Buying the game is buying the game. You may think it as "I am supporting Omeda", but in general something you see in Steam/EGS is you pay to play the game.
So if a random person decides to pay for Ethereal patreon, he knows he is getting bonuses for a game that will be released in the future, and he is willing to support it. But if a random person decides to buy Pred from Steam, they will pay for something that they can't use, most likely without knowing until they realize they can't spend the currency.
IMO..If you want to play paragon, pay it and support predecessor.Predecessor is the “only” revival project of paragon.Overprime is a different game,it is like a soulless puppet of paragon,it can be succesful like fortnite but it is not paragon.Omeda is not Netmarble and it needs real paragon fans support.Ppl are interesting,if omeda dies, paragon dream is over, why do you care shop, currency,Skins, trailer etc, keep the dream alive,it will be successful by time with support.I am ready to pay 10 bugs every month till i die for paragon,it is only 10 bugs,it is nothing. Those new players you talk about most of them move to a different game in a short time, they are like grasshoppers, always looking for a new field, you dont need them, you need a solid, loyal moba players and they will come for a solid game not for skins, not for trailers, they will come for competition and what is omeda aiming for, gameplay first, then it is the right direction.
Funs never enough, in a competitive game. Because fun only lasts when you are winning, progression keeps you playing when you aren't having fun, andd thats important.
I was hyped for pred but yea the way there doing things. Smh. Iv posted on literally every single post of there’s on fb saying I can’t wait BUT no rush please take your time I want it to be great when it releases. I didn’t mean just 1 aspect of the game I meant all aspects. I hope there able to bounce back but at this point I’ll take whatever game makes it to console “in due time” and is the most complete. Love your vids mangoose been with you since your first honest review lol. Keep it up!
I see everyones point of view on predecessor, I'm hyped for pred. Mangoose I think was just getting a kick out of bearded and jelly's back and forth lol.
Great video, very informative. It just reinforces my plan of waiting for PREDECESOR to be ready. I don't like the changes overprime did to the classic moba, plus all the glitches and unbalance, that's a big no for me. If I wanted to play a team death match, I'll play Overwatch 2, which is way more fun!
actually, I don't think predecessor didn't include the embed of the trailer purposely. It looked more like a mistake as the trailer link was first minute missing entirely and then the embed didn't quite recognize it – still funny tho
I think that Pred’s community is potentially gonna do a lot of damage to that game. There seems to be very little criticism they’re willing to give to a game that clearly needs it and that’s gonna hurt it when people that aren’t emotionally invested play it and don’t like what they get.
Who’s arsed about a store. I just want to play the game. At the end of the day the in game currency you’ve been given can be used later on. People have in-game currency sitting there without being spent all the time waiting for a good skin to come along it’s really not that big of a deal. And most probably that’s exactly what I’d do anyway. I’d just leave the currency in there until the cool skins come out. When games 1st get released the skins are usually meh anyway.
My biggest issue with the paid EA is that they brag about the huge investment they got, just to make a F2P title cost something for a few months. And it's definitely not going to help spread word of mouth nor a low entrance barrier for people that just can't afford 10 bucks just to try a game out that might not make it till launch.
About the currency you buy but can't spend I can just chuckle. We can't even guess what we'll be able to do with it or if that's a good deal or not. But they needed something to make 3 different bundles be different somehow.
I'm certain they'll hurt themselves with the price tag. And I'd even bet they dig their own grave with it if they don't deliver a significantly better experience than OP.
Bearded GiGa Squad.💪💪💪
Jelly getting called out on his hypocrisy 10/10. It get's old week after week.
Unfortunately, both are likely to fail in the market. Many people feel tired from tps moba I feel limited in genre
Overprime is full of action, but the balance is not good
Fred has a balance and strategy, but it's not fun because there's no action
The sound of hitting the enemy and the sound of the characters are really dead
"if it's eventually, why isn't it in the game NOW!?!" Anyone wanna explain what to this dude what the word "eventually" means? lol
