Console ball chasers are the worst of all
I feel like ball chaser is misused as a quick insult just like noob. Just got called a ball chaser when I was defending the entire game, only trying to clear the ball and setting up my teammates for easy shots. If anything, they matched this description way better as probably more than half the shots on our goal were actually made by them.
Doesnt help that much, you just inserted opinions into the video, would've been nicer to just see some of them
wtf? i guess you're entitled to you opinion. But damn, ball chasing is generally NOT GOOD.
Just the most useless video of all time. Ball chasers are incredibly bad and I never had a winning streak with them EVER LOL. How can you win when as soon as you push up there are 2 of you on the goal line every time and the opposition just has an open net. Teach people to ROTATE LOSER!
Any Youtuber who starts their video with It's your boy… immediate click off
Even if my team wins 10-0 I would hate the ball chaser scoring the 10 goals like the plague… There is a huge difference between a ball chaser and a player with an aggressive playstyle… Most of the time a ball chaser will not take its teammates or opponents positions into consideration at all, when engaging the ball… And it will never back off, not even if quick chat is spammed…
If you look at it from a different perspective, a player should have the mentality of only engaging 33% of the time in 3's, and 50% of the time in 2's – A ball chaser think it's fine to engage 100% of the balls in both modes. As long as he has fun and touches as many balls as possible, probably how he likes it IRL as well…
Sometimes i invite ball chaser into a training session and show the individual some basic mechanical skills.. the balls chaser goes "Woow why didn't u do that in the match???" and i go.. "Yeah why didn't i?" … .
Ball chasers create an alternative reality where they lower their teammates scores and inflate their own – This makes them immune to ever consider doing anything differently, cause high score = correct way of doing things 100% FACT …
Ball chasers are only if yours team are trash
Are you stupid Chronatog?
i have never played a game with a good ball chaser
I’m gonna be honest.. when I was stuck at c2 and I was definitely better/smarter than most of these players… ball chasing got me to gc… then I stopped ball chasing cause my tm8s started knowing what to do
My way of ball chasing is to constantly boom the ball every time I hit it on defense and always run into it on the wall so it falls in front of the goal for someone to hit in
but what about when you are about tot ake a clear shot and your team mate smashes it sideways for absolutely no reason other he can
I swear man i have been on losing streaks for like 5 time . Ball chasers . These guys never defend . Like seriously retarded
u know whatt i hate i hate the little 9 year olds that get 56 points in a 2s game while ur carrying them end up loseing and that 9 year old calls u a ballchaser and that he wasntt ttrying even tho it was a comp game
Ball-chasers are autistic fucks. There's literally no justifying it. The problem is, we've all done it at one point or another. I've been playing for roughly 2 weeks, and I'm already familiar with the so much of this games terminology, Rotations, Ball chasing, 50s, aerials, etc. I'm high gold right now, because I play a lot with friends, and when I'm not with them I play casual.
Casual has by far been one of the worst aspects of this game. You prove every game that you could make the proper play, whether it's getting a save/epic save or lining up the shot for your team-mates, or straight fragging out and scoring. Then your autistic team-mates see you dribbling, with an open net and speed boost into you, fuck your entire play, then leave when you lose.
Ball Chasers will kick the ball away when It's going in the goal posts. They will steal the ball and then score in out net. They chase the ball like they are tetarded
What ur saying is they apply pressure thats completely different than ball chasing bc it is defined as chasing the ball without a purpose "smart ball chasing" would be considered applying pressure
Ball chasers love taking the ball from their teammates while they're actively dribbling only to meekly smush it toward recovered opponents who launch a counter attack. Ball chasers are people who never ask, "should I hit the ball?"
Why are you showing football clips from the 70s or 80s lol. Football has changed now. They don't ball chase or press in groups of 5 or 6 players.
rocket league is a team game if your always going for the ball it just demoralizes the team because it make it look like you don't trust your teammates. This is a shit video. Ball chasers have cost me so many games because they won't rotate back to let a teammate in a better position hit the ball and just pass it to the other team. Don't ball chase you will just make your team hate you and cause them to shut down. Anyone who says different is a self centered ass hole just like the guy making this video.
How is that boost called?
I just go for the passes but when i pass my teammate and he missed to shoot, he called me a ball chaser.
Wtf come to a point
Like, I’m not a ball chaser, my only intent is to get the ball before the opponents do, keep it in their half court. I try to get the first touch even on fast balls, but obv I try to score and let teammates do their shots. My friend is like, well chill in your half court and see what they do, where the ball goes. No. I decide where it goes. Sometimes it’s good to wait obv on the half court but with the same intention to hit it firts
I'm doing that but just because I'm bad at the game , I want to hit the goal but I'm bad at aiming and (that's probably bad) but I don't really look for my teammates when I want to hit the ball so I probably steal some balls. now I fell bad 😅
My only thing about "ball chasers" (in 2v2s): You know you've got one when you're pushing with the ball along the side and they're trailing close behind on the same side. Also when your teammate doesn't rotate back to goal after missing a shot or centering….things that grind my gears tbh…BUT I can't be too mad because im also guilty of these smh 🤣
Since my shots are terrible I tend to pass and center more often and every time before I do I always say passing! Or centering! you’d think that your teammates will be waiting to catch the ball to score but no you get rammed by your own teammate trying to hit to hit the ball and the other team already scored
what a idiocy xD
Ball chasers are never the reason why I win. If I win with a ball chaser on my team it's always because the other team was just really dumb. Ball chasing constantly puts you in bad position to defend your own goal, and one slip up by said chaser will get you scored on. I can't count how many times a chaser got us a goal only to give one up 10 seconds later.
For me, I think there are moments where you are forced to ball chase under demo/bump or passing threat. Speaking from experience, most people I know play 2s complains about ball chasing and rotations in 3s being ball chasey. Which is why Rocket Sludge's playstyle still works so well in high level play. I'd complain that people giving away the ball and attacking for absolutely no reason being more of an issue than ball chasing. Because that's really having no motive to the ball is the worst thing you can do. If you took the risk that it is very likely that your teammate can't cover you. Then it's on you if it doesn't work out.
People generally don't really understand that the core of the issue is that it's an undecidable issue where you can't always throw out the same solution. If you do, the opponent would be a fool not to play around it or against it. Which is why senseless chasing the ball sometimes seem like the most stupid thing to do but it can put pressure proper if your teammates know what you are doing through comms.
The core of this issue I feel is that people throw their teammates under the bus instead of trying to adapt as it's the most easiest thing to do.
Ok I came to this video to want to learn how not to be a ball chaser and be a good teammate… I've discovered this video is all about me… chasing the ball to no end and always trying to hit it somewhere else. (preferably away from my goal)
Ps. I never hit the ball at my own goal unless it's to block it from going in.
I only ball chase when my teammates arnt even going for the ball!
When I play rocket league most times I get team mates that can't tell the difference from our goal and opponents goal and just wack the ball anywhere so I play ball chaser to pick up the slack for inexperienced team mates and I always play for fun not competition
5 min of bull shit.
bro most people don't even know what "ball chasing" even means they just say that to you when your team is loosing.
I've been called a ball chaser for hitting the ball twice without giving my teammates a chance to hit the ball. I routinely check to see if my teammates have a better shot than I do and will back off if I don't think a play is there. Other times if I think I have the best shot, I'll take it, or if I think I can do something after hitting the ball somewhere specific then I will. Being aggresive does force the other team to react which they may not be ready for, but if they are at least you can force a play when you want to. Now, I would say I'm guilty of ball chasing sometimes, I feel it is staying in the offensive zone for very long periods even with no boost, I've done this a few times. In my defense, I get like this probably for the same reason others do, gold/plat/diamond are not always consistent, and if you see your teammates miss a few plays, you can start to feel like you have to do everything yourself, which leads to trying to make every play, everywhere on the field. Sometimes I have to shake my head though, there are times when I'm making a play, I don't see either teammate in my FOV, then all of a sudden one of them comes flying in as I'm hitting the ball, and they start with the OMG OMG WOW WOW. Did they not see me either and they think I was rushing them? Or maybe I'm supposed to know when it is their "turn"?
Ball chasers are ruining the game. Rotation skips, only passing yourself, bumping into and even stealing the ball from teammates for that "high risk / high reward" payoff is not only giving the game up for a coin flip, but it takes away whatever fun there is to the game for the teammates.
The only redeeming factor would be if they really are too dumb to see or just time and time again misunderstand their teammates, but that does not seem to be the case. Would be very surprised if anyone of the ballchasers is not a selfish POS.
Edit: Oh and to say people who are not ballchasers should be apprechiative of the times a ballchaser gambled the game away and your team happened to have ended up with a win, while you had to do everything else regarded by the ballchaser as booring is just stupid and wierdly psychopathical.
You had like 2 open goals in the first minute of gameplay. So if you're so much better than your teammates to cut them off then you should have easily put the ball in the net.
I like to play with my boys who are lower rank, and they often smack the ball away from me when I'm escorting the ball up court. I think they genuinely think they are being a good teammate because I'm not moving the ball fast and they may not realize I have a plan. I usually don't say anything about it. The problem really comes when I get criticized for a challenge or I get accused of touching the ball at half court to move it toward the wall, when someone else had a "clean shot on goal" It's hard to justify either way because of our rank differences. It may have been possible for my gold teammates to score a "clean shot" from half-court, but in my rank (D3) taking a shot at goal from half court just gives the ball away unless the defenders messed up rotation.
So who else is gonna get the stop if I don’t chase that beech??? Some of Y’all are babies.. get gud
