For me, 1s is mainly about mechanical play, but also knowing when not to overcommit, and 2s is about passing and accuracy.

Lol cheating on kickoffs has gotten me so many goals and 1v1 opportunities because the opponents second man goes for back boost. Cheating for kickoffs is almost a free goal at times. & is definitely the better option.
