  1. EWJ2

Yes man. I will say that first level's music "Anything But Tangerines" I don't know what it is but it gets me hyped to get at it lol. Alot of great music in that game actually ☝️

    AR2…good lord…I can't pass the first level 🤷
Everytime I try I get my ass handed to me in seconds and just…nope I'm good eff that 😦

  2. I would nominate Skulljagger. Doesn’t deserve top 5, but certainly top 13. It seems easy for a while, but it’s not. And the amount of times you start from the beginning are enough to make a grown man cry (though I think I was a teenager when I last tried and failed to beat it)

  3. Good picks. I've never been able to beat Battletoads in Battlemaniacs. Legit I mean.

I can make it to the last level but with few lives & no continues. I tried so hard because I hoped that the 'next stage' would be a beat 'em up like the first one. Sigh.

  4. Hagane is awesome, also insane hard.

But. What does DKC 3 do on this list? That game is quite easy, but the game Demons Crest isn't?! The boss "Phalanx" final form is very hard the first times you play this game, but you want a challenge? Try to beat the bonus boss "Dark Demon". It must be one of the most insane boss I've ever seen in a videogame. After 6 – 10 hours of swearing I finaly pulled trough, and after that beat, I sweared to never try taking down the "Dark Demon" again.. The game itself it's a masterpiece so gonna play the game again and again, just not the insane bonus boss.

A little comparrison: To do Wolfenstein 2 "Mein leben" run was difficult, and took a lots of practice to do. But to beat "Dark Demon" in Demons Crest I think must be my second proudest moment in gaming. I think it's that hard.

  5. You know it gets brutal when The Lion King is only #9 on this list.

Can't believe you covered DKC3 and didn't mention Rocket Barrel Rush. You have reverse controls for the first half of the level, and then you literally have to know EXACTLY what's coming up to beat the second part.

  6. I was surprised to see Earthworm Jim 2 on this list considering some of the other inclusions. I remember playing that a lot with my best friend as a kid during sleepovers; SNES at my place and Genesis at his. The game is definitely abstract as heck and sometimes what you're supposed to do can be obtuse and take some figuring out, but once you're able to complete it, subsequent playthroughs are fairly easy; the actual execution difficulty isn't that hard.
